Class of 2026 2025-26 Portal

This is 100% illegal for college sports. The agreement is guaranteed to be rejected by the clearinghouse.
Probably but a company is paying for name, image and likeness. The more the players plays and performs the more recognition which increases potential sales or views for the company. Isn’t that the bases for a company to pay for nil.

If you only watched the occasional 5 minutes then you missed seeing that White did develop and his future is exciting. I want both back. Hopefully Gerry can fix Freeman and develop White.
The only problem with getting both back is they play the same position. Donnie may want to be a small forward but he is not. As someone else said he lacks the foot speed to play outside as he wants. I think the preference for Sadiq is that not only did he improve towards the end of the year, but he played aggressive inside. Donnie has the talent and skill, but he has not shown an acceptance to develop his back to the basket game in the paint. Donnie shoots way too many fade aways near the rim instead of attacking the rim.

Sadiq was far from the only one who lost their composure at times. Red just doesn’t have that leadership gene from the sideline nor the ability to develop that trait with his players to be leaders on the court. Sadiq was more a reflection of the team’s leadership as a whole. I don’t want to go beyond that to criticize Red as he is a great assistant he just isn’t HC material right now.

The leadership and intensity with this upcoming staff could really do wonders to harness Sadiqs game and help him quickly develop that potential.

He and Kiyan both really played better and benefited while filling in for Donnie and JJ and never found their groove again once their roles changed back which definitely falls some on the staff.
100%. It takes in most cases a veteran or a youngen whith a body, skills and attitude to come in cold and perform. Both Kiyan and
Sadig showed flashes when the played with starters and more than short stints. Some maturation and good coaching should make them both viable options.

Donnie is not a good shooter. He just hangs around the perimeter because he too soft to play inside. He occasionally makes a three, but he’s not consistent at all and he needs time to get it off. His ball handling and passing is also well below average. He really doesn’t have a position that he can play well.

I stopped watching early in the season, except for occassional spurts of 5 minutes here and there. I just don't get the Sadiq love. He is not a good basketball player. He has little to no basketball skills. To date, he has shown lack of emotional maturity or situational game awareness. Freeman is a far more skilled player, one who could, with additions of strength, weight and focus, carry a team. IMO, Sadiq will NEVER be that guy. I would ride with Freeman, unless there are behind the scenes things of which I am unaware.
one of those takes on here you just go ooof

I think Sadiq has a good motor which Donnie just doesn’t have. Donnie has talent no doubt, he just seems to love the perimeter game…unfortunately, the perimeter game doesn’t love him back. Don’t get me started on what happened when he was doubled or what he thought was defense.

Sadiq was just playing to fast…which a lot of freshmen do. I hope he stays and makes that jump which I think he can.

Sums up the world in 2026. Why should lack of information stop you from having an ironclad opinion on something?

Will be interesting to see if the Daly connection plays a role here. Graded out very well offensively, defensively average at best. 37% from 3 this year, 34.5% as a freshman.

Would definitely take this guy. 37% from 3 is already very solid, but imagine what Gmac could do for his 3 point %.

Bring it down to 33% on much higher volume?
;)

GMac was a clutch 3pt shooter, but
He was a career 35% at Cuse,
and shot 34% & 33% as a Junior & Senior, on the highest volume of his career.

GMac can teach FT shooting all day tho-
Just shy of 89% for his career.
Now *that* is elite.

vcu’s best player. Can get insanelyyyyyy hot, as UNC saw. Cmon Daly/Gerry!

He isn't a true PG more of a combo guard. Would be an interesting pair next to the Doty/Anthony combo. VCU also has a big I would be interested in if he hits the portal

GMac was also the primary focus of every defense during his Jr and Sr years, which impacted his shooting percentage.

IMHO, their best player is a PG named Brandon Jennings. Hull is good. Jennings is outstanding.

If he hits the portal and comes to SU, watch out! As an aside, his mom has 2 degrees from VCU. He is hardly a given to leave.

I meant more so for his coaching abilities. A lot of guys had their best 3 point/
free throw/field goal shooting years under Gmac (For example, JJ had the best shooting year of his career when Gmac was in his first and only year as an assistant under Red). They weren’t great shooting numbers, but they were the best of his 4 year career.

I think the uncertainty all of us have regarding who to get in the portal has never been higher. We really don’t know if any of these guys will translate. I think we saw that last season.

I really like their freshman PG, Lewis. I was hoping he hit the portal. But I think he announced he was staying.

I really like the versatility of their big Djokovic as well.

He seemed to shoot his best when sharing point guard duties like in his first 2 years when there were good ball handlers on the team and so he was able to play shooting guard more. His last 2 years here he played point guard much more which seemed to effect his 3 point shooting %. Billy Edelin only played in 4 games their 3rd/junior year before losing him totally his senior year.
