Class of 2026 2025-26 Portal

His plan apparently doesn’t include shooters.
Nate Kingz, who is a great player. Down to 36.7% from 3 after being at 44.6% from 3 the year prior. There is a lot more to building a roster than adding the best front facing stat holders you can get. I honestly thought they put together a good roster last season, but this is next level right now on how to put together a roster. I’m quite pleased so far, let’s see how they round it out in the coming weeks. They will add more, but even though the stats don’t show it. Kiyan, Doty, Mahmutovic, and even Sadiq can shoot the ball. They will probably be adding one or two more scorers as well. Scorers are only as good as the team built around them. The biggest question at this hour is the center position. I’m not worried about guard and forward even as they continue to add players to those positions. These moves are raising the floor for this program. Coaching and development will raise the ceiling.

Take it for what it's worth I know I have zero credibility on this forum but I've heard the name Christ Essandoko from multiple people as a big they are heavily targeting
Surprise surprise. I giant dude that can pass the ball for the front court.

Saw a X post last night that insinuated the same. Don't know how I feel about that but its not warm and fuzzy.

I think people don’t realize that there were only 82 players in the country that shot 37% or better from three. Let that sink in
Take it for what it's worth cuz I haven't checked the AI sources.

"Studies of returning high-percentage shooters in college basketball frequently show that over 60–70% of players in the top 100 fail to match or exceed their previous season's elite three-point percentage".

This is why you do not pay top dollar for them. The odds show that they are just as likely to regress to the mean. Especially on the hill we've seen this over and over again. They have to be more than shooters. And don't give me the Carlos BS, one of Autry's major failings was bringing in a 5'11 170 pound guy to play in the ACC.

Dual is 6'5 205 all these guys we're bring in are tall, long and have some meat on them.

I'm not saying Dual is starting point either, I think he will fight for mins with some of the other guards we're still going to bring in,

I heard there was a secret visit that no one has heard the name of yet. Is that what we’re dealing with here?

I have a feeling this stat is AI, so I took a few minutes to check it out.

I went to barttorvik.com's player stats page and set the filters to 3P% greater than or equal to 38 and 3PA to greater than or equal to 70 and it returned 379 players.

If you change the 3P% to 37.5 to account for rounding up to 38% you get 431 players.

CONFIRMED! The stat is AI.

Not AI, got the info from the NCAA website for 3 point percentage leaders so I’m assuming they have higher qualifications for how many attempts. My apologies should have looked further into it. No real need to be rude about it though

A guy that has gone statistically backwards, but up levels, over his career. And a true nomad.

Agree. Better to play it safe than sorry. If he hits year one great but if he’s inconsistent you’ve got proven scorers to lean on.
Maybe MMM did not come with big price tag and they are really trying to ensure depth at the 1, 2 and 3 with serious defensive versatility

Siena’s defense was tough. You have to have nice depth to play that way. Part of the reason they got so gassed against Duke. It’s what Autry tried and failed to do this year.

How about this plan, His plan is first to be able to stop shooters, While maintaining offensive efficiency so we can compete at the highest level given our available resources. All of the top teams were elite defensively first, good place to start, especially those with defensive versatility while hoping to develop offensively. I think that is honestly the plan. If we cannot get a top level 5, Backup or equivalent 4, We must attempt to dominate at the 1,2 and 3. Without a drop off as you saw last year. Might be a grind

I agree, Except we did not have a dog at the 1,2. I honestly feel so bad for JJ, Totally mental. He did buy in defensively and it certainly showed early on. I think Red wanted that to be the team's identity with strong guard play to lead the team that was challenged offensively on the best of days. It did not happen. I think there's going to be some defensive dogs on this team and we will be able to manufacture a lot more points. That is the hope. I hope we get a skilled big man and we truly share the ball
