Regarding Louisville spending cash like it’s growing on trees, they have to do it. Their fans and alumni absolutely hate UK. I’ve worked with a few, and they do not tolerate losing to UK in anything. It’s years of being the little brother and getting kicked around. They need to be better than UK, and they will do whatever it takes to be better. We’ll see which program goes broke first.

True. Even in the city of Louisville there are more UK boosters and fans. Business execs and law firms filled with UK alums. Annoys the Ville people to no end. They had a very hard time accepting Pitino first few years.

That’s about right for a top 10 portal starting center. The most important position in College Basketball this decade. Based on the 10 million plus number mentioned here I think Syracuse would pay that. It’s more likely a matter if the person you would pay that for chooses you because others will be offering them similar. You are getting a seat at the table by willing to pay that, but there is no guarantee you walk away with the player.

My ideal scenario now would be you pay up and try to get Reibe, Tobiason and Mayes followed by Folefac. You run Folefac as backup 4 and small ball 5. You use the length of a guy like Tobiason and taller backcourt to be able to run 4 big guards around Reibe at times then use Folefac in the Omier role at times thus limiting Goodricks minutes based on matchup.

Dual and Mayes you can use as a PG combo effectively. Anyways one can dream lol.

That’s the going rate for top quality players in the portal. We were told with Gmac as coach we’d have the NIL backing. Was that a lie? We should be able to afford a player for that price.
