Every time I see “we can’t” or we aren’t I chuckle. Let’s see what happens. A ton of good players still available and this staff while working quietly is very very busy.

This is my problem with your takes. This guy is 170 6’1 and all he does is score points on a high volume of shooting. 17 points a game on a losing Pitt team with 37% FG and 26% 3 pt shooting is JJ Starling all over again.

Can we please let GMac portal in some guys that have different strengths than just scoring points inefficiently.

I do like Wilkens but caution would be necessary if we land him too, similar to guys like Doty and Folefac. I’d love the pickup but the last impressive Furman PG to move up to P4 was a major disappointment. Still kid is intriguing.

I think it works easier to take a risk on a guy like Wilkins who is just a freshman, now that you have dual as well. Makes more sense to bet on a young kid who has more room and time for potential growth than a 4th year junior or something along those lines.

Curious to see how we pivot at PG after adding Tobiason. Without knowing the finances behind the deal, or how much we have left to work with, his addition makes me hope we can still add big names at PG and C.

PG: ???/Dual/Moesch(?)
SG: Tobiason/Kiyan/Doty
SF: Doty/MMM
PF: White/Folefac(?)
C: ???/Goodrich

I hope we can land Wilkins. It seems like we're out on Cox, and Cruz Davis is probably unlikely. Maybe we come back to DJ Wagner? Wouldn't mind him (or Wilkins) and Dual splitting minutes.

You have a problem with my “takes”? Wow. I said one innocuous thing that Lowe was a good player for Pitt his one season there, and you jump on me with a broad based potshot of my “takes.” First of all, I’ve made barely any comments or had opinions about any of our portal additions or targets (except for sharing Dual’s ranking from on3, and showing that he was a top 100 kid), because I’m not going to make snap judgements based on a handful of highlights and some stats. I’ve not seen enough of any of these players to issue judgements. However, I have respected and supported what other posters have said about certain players we’ve landed or targeted using analytics-based analysis from Evan Miya, etc. I’m not sure why you’re attacking me for my “takes” on portal players. I’ve barely had any opinions about them!

Jaland Lowe was excellent for Pitt. What’s wrong with saying that?
 
So with Tobiason in the fold- once ranked I’m sure we move up a bit more on On3 and I suspect now have 3 top 100 adds from the portal. BH and the friars have a big one in Byrd, a big meh in Hightower from USF and then the G league kid who absolutely is a talent for sure. Will be interesting to see how things play out but I’d say we are holding our own in the roster building piece vs the guy many of us wanted.

Also PC lost 4 kids rated 93 or higher that transferred out via On3 ratings and a couple top 50 not being able to retain any of them. Seemed kind of dumb to me BH couldn’t work with some serious talent like Vaaks(so?).
