It sounds like you have an axe to grind with queens of all sorts (although Queens, NY is a county that is made up of smaller neighborhoods - not cities). Is it possible to leave the politics on your side of the screen for our sports boards?
I do not know where the origin of this discussion started however I completely agree. Without going into significant details the core tenets of college athletics at literally every level and every sport empower those who participate to a tremendous degree. I cannot but think back during my time especially personally where I certainly would have been thought of as someone who came out of an impoverished background. Certainly and potentially increased prevalence of what would be considered Impoverished backgrounds with significant minority populations. Can we say and discuss the impact as it relates to Social Determinants of Health, well those discussions were definitively lived personally with significant implications. However I learned about these determinants at Syracuse University. I will say no more of the impact it had and so many of the friendships I made with lots of my brothers and sisters. College athletics is a tremendous avenue, vehicle and medium. Very few made money professionally however large amounts of us certainly explicitly improved in every arena of life, Not all but most. I have serious concern about the degradation and erosion of true college athletics of what it can do from an empowerment perspective. Once again I do not know definitively the origin or source of your discussion, but if it is discussing what I think, I say bravo and that is why I am forever grateful to this University and the medium of college empowerment on every level. College sports at every level has empowered so many Individuals to see a different side of life and to build from there including families, family structure as well as societal impact. Certainly other mediums like the military, Eye opening and filled with freedom if taken advantage of.
Cal is impressing me with some of the portal pickups, but also losing some pieces as well. But don't know much about the losses, very impressed with their gains.
Yes and they have a great freshmen quarterback will be a tough task next year.
