If it was that simple he wouldn't have been dismissed from a respectable program in Tennessee under Josh Heupel before the end of the season. Based on what I'm reading on social media, it sounds like if he was thinking long term, a program with the structure to help him mature is what would be the best option for him.

To be fair to Tennessee, he was holding out and telling the team he was gonna stay in cali and joined a gang. He wasn’t even 100% to play against us week 1, he showed back up to campus the week of.
Based on what I’m reading on twitter, it’s the mom that is most likely to call into ESPN Radio Syracuse.
I’m not blaming them at all, I called them respectable. Syracuse happens to have a coach that goes above and beyond for developing players beyond football in their program than honestly what most power conference programs have been expected to do for there players. Fran has been vocal about how he wouldn’t mind if other programs implemented some of the ways off the field he does for his players if it would help more players in college football. Tennessee probably does screening for this up front, but sometimes you miss or the player changes once they enter the program and you don’t have the expertise and tools to work through it with them. They leave and Tennessee will get his replacement.
I fully expect Fran to bring back the main core of players. And be extremely active with the portal this off season. He’s been kinda against it and wants to build the team in high school players (hence the large recruiting classes with high school players) but Fran knows he needs to win big next year with the schedule. The two classes he brought in will be a year older, we get our QB back. A top 30 class coming in. You bring a sting portal class, especially in the trenches and secondary. We should be good next year. Shake up the coaching staff a bit (especially Elijah) and we will be good next year. We would have been good this year if Angeli didn’t get hurt.
Frans biggest strength is recruiting (which we all know) and player relationships so that means recruiting the players already on the team that he wants to stay. And you see after EVERY game a lot of the studs on other teams go out of their way to talk with Fran cause they respect him. We’ll be in on players you won’t expect this off-season like caliber of player. We need to upgrade the safeties. We are set at corner with Peal, Samuels and Kerr. We’ll be fine at linebacker with AD, Bryant and McDonald. Safety, O-line and D-line NEED to be a priority and Fran knows that
