Class of 2026 2025-26 Portal

When combing HS + portal haul it looks like Syracuse will finish 40th overall, and 9th in the ACC, with a total of 40 new commits. Crazy part is that’s around the median for P4. I know the limit is 105, some may stick to 85, but it’s madness that each program is over turning close to half their rosters each season. Of course the halves continue to separate themselves. Just more of the season.

1. Texas
2. Notre Dame
3. Ohio St
4. USC
5. Texas A&M
6. Alabama
7. Oregon
8. LSU
9. Tennessee
10. Georgia
11. Miami
12. Michigan
13. Ole Miss
14. Texas Texh
15.Oklahoma

9th in ACC...not exactly the Fran effect we had hoped for going into year 3...

The haves aren’t continuing to separate themselves. The opposite is happening. The difference between the number 1 class and the number 50 class is tighter today than it was just 5 years ago.

I mean we used to be close to dead last or some years dead last in these rankings. Also I posted it in my comment above, the margins are so much smaller now than they used to be. For example per 247, in 2021 the difference between the 1st and 9th ACC class was 91 points. In 2026, it’s 58 points currently. Syracuse may not be some elite juggernaut that is going to out talent everyone, but it also isn’t going to be out talented. Really the top talented roster in the country is not going to be the same of what it used to be.

I must have missed the last 3 playoffs, as well as the last 3 recruiting cycles.

So many guys still left in the portal, damn. I doubt we would sign another running back but Dylan Edwards is still available, when he is healthy he is really good. Nico Brown, the Yale WR, is available too, he put up big numbers, seven 100 yard games last season, albeit Ivy League, and he is a Cali kid. Would be a good add to the WR room

And there will be some more popping up in the portal due to the delay of release.

These are good type of players to fill out the roster. Guys who’ve seen the field and even if they even only contribute on ST’s the impact of having players with experience in practice is a big deal.
