2025 ACC Football Schedule

Cool link to how the schedules are created. Absurd that Syracuse has Pitt/BC both home or both away. With two "rivals," no reason not to break that up.
I really can't see any way that Notre Dame would want to play us 2 years in a row.
Stanford would be a better game for them.

Neither Stanford, Cal, or SMU currently appear on any future ND schedules.

I assume the next 12 year scheduling deal that runs from 2026-2037 will have to be adjusted to include these 3 teams now.

Eye ball wise it would be better for this years Notre Dame game to be with Stanford.
That is a National tradition.
Playing against us is just another game.
No matter whether ESPN, ACC Network or NBC Notre Dame against Stanford attracts twice as many viewers.

But ND gets to play Miami this year !!!

Catholics vs Convicts.

Another national tradition. :D

Some thoughts on the SU schedule for 2025…

This is another year with an extra week in it so there will be 2 byes.

The first is surely on 9/27. The second would ideally be on 11/1. That would give us 4 games, a bye, 4 games, a bye and then the last 4 games. The ACC can’t do this for everyone because then on 9/27 and 11/1, they would have no games to show. But I think the teams that have a bye on 9/27 are likely going to have their second bye on 11/1, or 10/25 or 11/8. I am going to assume bye 2 is on 11/1 but it could easily be a week earlier or later. If it is not one of these three weeks, we really got boned. Don’t think that will happen after we had to take a bye in week 3 last year to help ensure the ACC had enough inventory for the whole season.

Other things to consider: we are going to have a weekday night game at home. That was something that was a condition of us joining the ACC. I think at that point, there were a bunch of ACC schools that refused to play weekday night games and ESPN wanted more ACC games on Thursday and Friday nights. I believe Pitt also has to do this. Maybe BC. We know VT likes to host weekday night games as well.

Anyway, the ACC likes to schedule the weekday night games the week after a bye. This way, there is no short week for the teams playing. So I would expect a weekday night game after at least one of the byes. The other good option the ACC uses to get around short weeks for teams playing weekday night games is to play them on consecutive weeks. So if you play on Thursday night one week, it is not a problem to play on Friday night the following week. Or vice versa. Worst case might end up with a 6 day gap but that is a lot better than 4 or 5 days.

Notre Dame only has 11 games scheduled for 2025. Stanford only has 11 games scheduled for 2025. The two schools have played each other a ton and ND always strives to end their regular season with a game in California. So I expect a game between the two will be announced soon. Probably as part of the big ACC schedule announcement. I a guessing the holdup on making the announcement is whether extending the ND-Stanford series is going to result in counting the Stanford games as part of ND’s 5 game sxhuedling agreement with the ACC. ND wants them to count. The ACC does not. This could affect Syracuse’s remaining games with ND (along with the need for ND to schedule some games with the other newbies that joined the ACC). It seems inevitable most or all ACC schools will lose at least one game that has been scheduled with the Irish. No one wants the games lost to be home games. This is a real mess for the ACC.

Anyway, none of that affects the SU-ND game for 2025. Except the part where ND is playing at Stanford on 11/29. That is likely going to end up driving the SU-ND game in South Bend to 11/22. ND has most of their games scheduled for 2025 and it turns out that is the most logical spot for the Syracuse game.

Given all that, this is what I came up with as a possible Syracuse schedule. One of the weekday night games will be at home. One will be on the road. I don’t think the ACC is going to ask SU to play twice on weekday nights in one season. I think the away game on a weekday night will be against Miami. They are a big draw name and given how well SU did this year, that looks like an attractive game for ESPN,

For the other games, there isn’t much rhyme or reason to the weeks I chose. I picked weeks the opponent was available and tried to balance things so there wasn’t a ton of home or away games in a row. The ACC owes us some on that front for what they did to us last year.

It looks like there is a realistic chance we might have 2 home games in September, October and November. That would be nice and help salvage a sad season with only 6 home games.

If the Stanford-ND game counts as one of the ACC games there would only be 4 openings left for ACC teams which would stink to high heaven.

Agree. ND’s new AD was recently quoted saying he wants to play ACC schools like Clemson every year. But they also want to play Stanford every year and have it count against their obligations to the ACC.

I don’t think ND gets either. Don’t blame them for trying.

ND hasn't scheduled Stanford yet because it doesn't want six ACC games per year.

Which is dumb. They can be a lock for the CFP every year lol

An above posted tweet shows that the Atlanta tickets are currently on sale. I am guessing the university will have its own grouping of tickets to ensure that Cuse fans are gathered together?

I don’t know why I had it in my head that Cuse/Tennessee was potentially going to be Sunday or Monday night of Labor Day Weekend.

Saw something with dates on Instagram with 4 straight at home ND last game of the year.

I guess lets wait and see. I like Clemson early.

This nonsense?

They listed all the away game first in alphabetical order, then the home games in alphabetical order, then ND last.

All the unassigned games are still TBA.

That placeholder schedule snags a lot of fans. :)

I am looking so forward to tomorrow's schedule release. It takes my mind off this disappointing basketball season. I live in Tampa and am contemplating going to both Atlanta games and Miami.
