I’m sticking with 8-4 and the Sun, but 1 slip could certainly send the Orange to Boston.

I feel the ACC is dying to send us there.

We did not. Along with Stanford, Cal and Wake. Shows how difficult our schedule is. If we had Wake’s cupcake schedule we would probably be picked for a good 9-3 type bowl
The schedule is "difficult" based on past history. As the investment houses say: "Past history is no guarantee of future performance."

Rather, the "cognoscenti" simply say: "Oh, Syracuse, last year was a complete fluke. They will suck as usual this year."

True dat on the second part! The first part can be true but when you have four playoff teams from last year, a fifth team who only missed the playoffs by a couple of spots, and a team considered a contender for the ACC title game, all away from home, they all aren’t going to turn into 2024 Florida State.

FWIW - and this has nothing to do with bowl projections - I spoke with a rep from the "FBS Tropical Bowl" at the Colgate game. He was there to scout players from SU, and at least one guy from Colgate. The Tropical Bowl is a college football All Star Game played in Orlando to showcase players to NFL scouts.

Tropical Bowl

Wow, no one else has is in any bowl and these dudes have us in a pretty big one vs Oklahoma? Umm, if they say so!
Id hardly consider an after new years/non playoff bowl game in cold weather…a pretty big one.

Well you are not paying attention, the game gets a ton of press because of the whole goofy dump the Mayo on the winning coach thing. This is a bowl for 8 or 9 win teams, so yeah it is a pretty big one. We aren’t getting this game, unless we pull off a couple of upsets

I always wanted to play in that game, through its many name change sponsors, because you get an SEC opponent and I thought we could put up a decent crowd for a mid level bowl. But they moved it to Jan 2???

I guess the playoffs are just stretching everything.

I guess the sweet spot of between Christmas and New Years is gone and it not up against a Thursday NFL game, but with the portal and the kids opting to practice for the spandex Olympics more in favour, don’t stretch these out.

I’m ready for some Friday Night Knicks or a NYR game as the NFL gears up for its big month of January at that point.

All bowls should be done before the college playoffs start too.

There is only one portal window now and it occurs after bowl season.
