Man, the Detroit renaissance sure looks like a one-and-done. I was shocked at how bad they looked, especially with all that talent on offense.
Chicago only favored by 2.5 over DET. That line seems low to me.

Rams are currently SB favorites at +500 despite the fact that they have no shot at the #1 seed. Seattle is next at +525 and SF is +800. Those odds show some distrust of SF given they are a slight favorite (-1.5 Saturday night against SEA) to have the #1 seed and yet are still a distant third.
I think that’s about right. Niners playoff wins will have to look like last night because they aren’t stopping anyone. I’d have Philly above Seattle and SF as well.

That said Philly has to figure out what they are doing on offense. More convinced than even after watching them that’s it’s a scheme/play calling issue than anything the players are doing. They get ahead, consistently call halfback dive on the first two downs, and then it’s 3rd and 8 plus.

Ultimately I do think the SB winner does come out of the NFC. More complete teams across the board.

Agreed about the scheme. The opponent makes adjustments at halftime and Philly (mainly the OC) has no ability to adjust. Plus Sirianni has some Jim Boeheim in him where he tries to run the clock out too early. They blew a 21 point lead to Dallas and a 14 point lead to Denver. They need to go for the jugular against these teams.

Here's how I see the NFC - two strong offensive teams (SF and CHI), two strong defensive teams (SEA and PHL), two teams with no shot (NFC South and GB) and the most balanced team in the LAR. I'd favor the defensive teams over the offensive teams. Lot of people are sleeping on SEA because of Darnold but they have the best defense in the NFL imo. LA is rightfully the favorite but their road may be very difficult.

They had two good years. Pretty standard window. Can't afford to lose the whiz playcaller and have a downgraded OL when you don't have the great QB.

Detroit is still 3rd in the league in scoring. Good is good for 2-3 duds a year like he had Thursday. The big issue for them is defensively. Tied with the Bucs at 24th in the league and nothing but suck below them. Luckily for them they may be able to rehire their old DC back after a year away.

49ers won last night without 4 of their perennial all-stars! You've got to hand it to their coaching staff. Even the defensive coaches considering that weeks ago they lost their two best defensive guys.

The offense looks great and they probably get Kittle and Williams back next week. Unfortunately, the only boost to the defense will be the return of CB Stout which probably isn't a game changer. On the other hand, the defensive replacements are getting more game and practice time every week.

Don't disagree about them being thirdish. Their win over LA was lucky and Seattle has only lost 3 games by a total of 9 pts - very solid.

This is the best I’ve ever seen Purdy play. He’s been slinging it and moving around really well since he came back from injury.

Sick 3 leg parlay w Hawks/9ers/Falcons. +728. Figured McVay might sit guys if those teams won since he has a history of that. But this works too!

I might have jumped the gun, but with the Rams down 21 at the half tonight, the NFC bye team has to be the favorite.

Maybe but I think it will be very tight. May depend how that game flows between SF/SEA. Rightly or not SF is just not power rated as highly as either LA or SEA.

Annual rant on how much the 7th playoff team sucks & ruined the best playoff format in sports.
Imagine how much less this week would suck under the old format.
You'd have the Pats/Jags/Bears/Eagles playing for a bye.
Chargers playing to get in, which creates the domino effect of NE scoreboard watching for a realistic shot at the 1seed.
Good job NFL. Thanks for the horrible change nobody asked for. Choke on your extra millions from State Farm or whomever.

Close. Flip the last two. Mon has always been a 4/5 game.

In order to win it all, the Niners don’t need to travel. Season finale at home vs Seattle, two home games as the 1 seed and then the Super Bowl is in their stadium.
