Betting on Syracuse provides the second-lowest payoff, but 1) +550 is still a pretty good return on investment, and 2) it’s the second-lowest for a reason: It’s time for SU to return to the throne. Following the Orange's 12-win season in 2024 (the most for the program since 2017), there’s reason to believe the team's progress will continue into 2025. Owen Hiltz’s productivity has grown each season he's been on the field, and all the Canadian Junior A reps and chemistry honed over the summer by Joey Spallina, Trey Deere, et al, will continue to pay off exponentially when everyone’s back in Orange. Box game excellence doesn’t inherently equal field game excellence, but if there’s anyone who knows how to connect the two, it should certainly be head coach Gary Gait. Give me $91 on Syracuse, and $9 on Virginia just because McMabe Millon’s going to an absolute nightmare.
