2025 Spring Practice/Game

Jakari looked the part of a D-1 QB. If Collins is clearly above him, then I think we're in good shape.
I really really hope we can keep Jakhari here. I'd be sad if we lost him to the portal because I think he's got "it". And with an offense with a running QB, you never know when your number might be called.

I tried to caution people on getting too ahead of themselves on Carney. He's going to be solid but a redshirt year is necessary for him.

Agree on all of this. Carney is going to be a good one but he is still a high school kid so to speak, gaudy numbers or not he needs time.

I think we need a linebacker, a kicker and, easier said than done, a center. And please let’s close out the Fresno State kid visiting today, our secondary would take a big step up with him in it

In Frans original statement naming Rickie the QB he said “there might be someone hitting the portal and that’s okay because they balled out here”.

Well, it’s not going to be the coaches son and I doubt it’d be one of the frosh (though Carney maybe if he sees the roster stacked?)…so..

If JW does go too the portal then we also need to grab a portal backup.

I’d be surprised if it was Carney.

I think Fran was just speculating, I wouldn’t make any conclusions based on that comment.

Seems like people who were in attendance are really worried about the size and youth. Especially considering the schedule. Doesn’t seem like next season will be a fun one.

Really need a Fadil type guy to go along w/a secondary stud.

There were many pivotal plays in the Miami victory, but Wax's chasing down of an open field Cam Ward from behind on 3rd down (that led to Miami settling for a FG 42-38) prevented a TD and who knows how the game would've ended if Miami tied it.
Gonna miss Wax.
It's true MacDonald knows the system and is certainly capable, but I don't know if he's fast or dynamic enough in making heroic plays. I don't know if any of the LBs have that much game. With coaching and scheming and portaling, I'm hopeful.

Was in attendance. What I’m worried about is cb and DL. And its a significant worry imo. Size and athleticism looked good on both sidelines. Those two units just didnt impress me

Don’t be as worried about DL. David O, David Reese and a few others didn’t even play. Also they passed a lot and were not aloud to hit QB.
I'll be worried about DL until we see how they start the season. We have some interesting pieces there but I don't know if there is a standout there. I'm a big Perry fan so I hope he's that guy to make a big leap.

I don’t think they’ll be crazy good but I think we will see a significant jump in talent in that room. I’m really worried about the line backers and corners and think we need to get some immediate impact players.

Perry didn't play and he and Watson were starters last year. They both played well at the end of the year as 1st year starters.
Perry had an ankle brace on. Assuming he was kept out as a precaution to whatever injury he was dealing with.
