Sorry for you out of towners, but I love the idea not to televise the game. That coupled with it being at the soccer stadium should mean that it’s packed! I know I’m going!

Also appreciate that the school is putting in the effort and hosting their own tailgate for it.

IIRC “tickets“ were free last year for STH’s. Once you renew they send an email with RSVP/signup link.

Tickets have been required for all free events in the Dome since the basketball issue a few years back, but tickets aren’t required at the soccer stadium and the entrance points are pretty wide open. Nothing announced as of yet. I expect they will still distribute tickets even if they don’t scan you in just to get an idea of potential crowd size. Still a SWAG with free tickets how many will actually show particularly with weather being a factor outside.

I feel it is a mistake to not televise the spring game. With tv revenue starting to be tied to viewership you want to keep the entire fan base engaged and energized. A one hours all access show is not going to get a lot of fans to tune in.
Fran said he is not worried about having a spring game than why not televise the game.
Seems shortsighted on the part of the university. You would think after a decent turn out of fans for the west coast games you would want to increase the enthusiasm.

I would enjoy the spring game more also, especially now that we know Fran takes it seriously and we have a legit QB battle to watch. The one hour all access show is kind of "been there, done that" after what we had last year.

They probably know what the ratings were/how many people watched the game last year, and made the decision with that knowledge in mind.

I think this is a win for the program. A lot of schools aren't doing anything in the spring anymore. We get a spring game AND a show.

The syracuse.com story made it sound like ACC Network gave each school a choice. Syracuse is doing the show and still doing a spring game people can watch (in person).

True but as one who doesn't live locally to be able to attend in person, I'd prefer to be able to watch the spring game this year. For those who live locally and can watch both, it works out great.

Or SU - you know, the school with a great media program - records the game and posts it on YouTube. No deep bootleg searches required. Nah, that makes too much sense...

Su with new QBs and perhaps new plays going to play Tenn with unknown QBs . I would think its a good time to show less since we have never seen that offense run under Nixon.
