2025 West Lot/Selection date and times UPDATED

people get stuck on south campus too.. I have seen lines getting into sky top stretched forever as well. one thing tailgates do is make the lines shorter closer to game time.
There’s a plan to reduce the cross traffic of football fans and South Campus dwellers as well. It’s definitely an issue.

Well, here’s the thing. The current conditions are not good regarding university access. Especially during rush hours.

Turning Adams & Harrison into 2-way streets will help. But more importantly, creating access off 690 via Crouse and Irving will be a huge improvement for daily access.

The challenge will be during events, when the university is loosing parking on the north side of the university, and moving more people to Lally and South Campus.

The university continues to make changes that fly in the face of the plan NYSDOT has rolled out.
I was saying years ago that the stadium was become more and more land locked.

They better have more and better options on the quad for the general public and better hope for good weather

Ya I wouldn't count on either of those especially the former.

They are scarred by recent dome events where people were stuck on the highway, and unable to access parking prior to the start of games/concerts.

It’s a reasonable concern.
Big Boy school fans realize you arrive a few hours before kickoff.

SU needs to get the word out

The issue has been Friday night FB games where thousands of employees are trying to get off campus as thousands of football fans are trying to get on campus after getting out of work.
The Louisville game in 2017? was a disaster.

There’s never an issue getting to Saturday FB games, unless it’s a sold out nooner…which is extremely rare.

Sure its SU, or the hospitals?

SU tries to clear out campus Friday afternoons, but the rest of the hill runs business as usual.

The bigger issue is that most people can’t get up there early on Fridays….so everyone shows up at once…

That Lville game was a mess no doubt but again assuming your right, SUs making these changes that will impact thousands for an issue that occurs at most once a year and even with 2 Fri night games this year, only one is going to pull a decent crowd ( UNC) which with Halloween will probably won't be anywhere close to a sell out.

Wouldn't be more sensible to end all classes and staff obligations by 1pm that Friday?

I really hope there's some other rationale behind the move to lessen inventory because even by SU standards this is bad.

So is Colgate a mandated Friday night game by the ACC? Why would we self select that game for Friday night when it isn’t on TV and obviously Fridays nights are so difficult we had to screw hundreds of people out of parking for the whole season? Obviously I know UNC is mandated as a conference game.

Colgate is on the ACC Network.

TV Game.

Will SU allow cars coming down the south side of the dome through ESF? It would be another way to access the west lots. There’s a lot if foot traffic going that way, but it would allow another access point.

SU could easily fix this by doing a legit traffic study. Something they have never done.

Then work with that traffic study with Syracuse Police and have one way traffic on certain roads etc.

Syracuse University does itself no real favors.

Pushing out thousands of season ticket holders to west after taking their seats last year is a bad look.

This will cost them $$$$$.

People weathered the storm with the reseat last season and when they got moved said “well it’s okay I still have my tailgate/parking”

Now with that gone too within a year…

Why should people keep giving to the school?

It’s become apparent the school doesn’t care about their experience

Bottom line, SU is a terrible school for parking and tailgating. It’s nowhere as bad as, say, Boston College, but its offerings are limited. If parking, tailgating and access were better, football attendance, and even basketball, would be improved. Love the Dome and much about its location at the center of campus, but I’ll always dream about a football stadium on South Campus with plenty of parking.

You would think with the decision to keep the Dome and upgrade it, and knew that somewhere down the road the west lots etc, were going to be buildings at some point, that they would also plan for future parking contingencies for Football and Basketball? I mean, constructing new buildings also means having parking for them?

I think much of the parking issue is that we were all kept in the dark. If there was no board even now people would have no idea things have changed. We had time to prepare and think and plan about seating, but everyone was blindsided by what is going on with parking and 80% of us have not even gone thru the process.

Its not like they even got proactive to see who was thinking of renewing or who was looking at buying for the first time or who was thinking of getting a 2nd pass if it was an option or who was thinking of trying a new lot out.

I'm not sure if you can for FB, but I was able to for BB this past season.

Coming off a successful season, I had an inkling parking might be an issue in the better lots. I was just hoping for the best. Spaces in the West Lot were limited last year. Honestly, though, it wouldn’t be much of a problem if the lot wasn’t filled with students and employees. SU needs parking that is dedicated for GameDay parking, not a lot where you’re hoping to squeeze in amongst a bunch of law students with no interest in SU sports and Dome employees. It’s a bad look and cheapens the experience.

Anecdotally it seems the ticket reps were kept in the dark too. They were conveying that parking would be much better than last year until the week before the process kicked off. Don’t think they were deliberately misleading people.

That may well be true. It doesn't help we have differing groups on campus between Transportation and Athletics and Academics and ESF who don't all seem to have the same goals.

2016. A disaster in more ways than one.

I never park, so it's not an issue for me. But I imagine for many on that night, just get through the mess, grab a beer, sit in your seat, look up at the scoreboard and see we're already down 21-0.

I think one small change that would really help clear things up is some transparency; simply numbering the available spots for each lot would go a long way. For example 800 /1500 remaining etc.

At least that way people would know where they stand more. It's so opaque.

No west parking or raynor. I spoke to Tony and he said it is more or less out of their hands. And because the construction @ Sherton area they lost several lots they would have had before. VA Garage is it.

Maybe they thought we'd have flying cars by now
