No.
No.
Yeah, that is what doesn't make sense to me. My donor rank is 1505. I know not everyone ahead of me is a football STH, but let's assume for the sake of argument that all of them are. That means 1500 people got to buy passes before my time slot. Let's say 2000, because I was 3 hours late logging in.So just looking at numbers. Between the stadium lot and fine lot and such there are roughly 1000 spots to park. How is it that less than 20% of our STH were able to buy up 1000 spots? That doesnt even include 100s of other spots that were also sold during these first 3 days in various smaller lots.
Ballpark 1000 people bought 1500 spots?
We know not every STH usually buys parking and not all of them buy it down there. Some in this initial group must be in Manley or Skytop as well.
Even if you factor in, they sell on 75% of a lot, the numbers are vastly different in what happened this year.
They showed us that the avg person who bought a fine lot pass last year was a low donor level 7. This year they didn't even get thru the 6's it seems. Thats about 1000 people faster and thats ignoring that people in level 8 might have been able to buy passes in past years.
My time was 2:49PM Tuesday. 10+ year holder. Over 1K donation. when I logged in 4pm, no west lot. I've been able to have west lot for about 5 years now... I got 6 seats and have had 4+ in the midfield upper for the same period.they have a few issues going on
1) loss of inventory
2) letting people buy multiple passes
3) not letting people auto renew anymore
4) rewarding of recent money vs longevity in how the levels work is skewed a bit
when you have people who have had tickets/passes for 30+ yrs get jumped over because someone buys 5-6 nice seats or donates a few hundred the system is kinda broken. They are not really rewarding people who stuck around during the down years at all.
They should have just auto renewed people using the pt system for parking and not allowed all the newbies to jump to the front so easily. then you figure out the spots lost and how to deal with that.
The way its working now it sounds like anyone below the top 2-3 tiers is going to be lucky to find any spots at all.
I wonder if they even considered the fact that having tickets for x number of years and not buying parking that those people would be crushing so many long time parkers if those people suddenly decided to buy
If nothing else they should have saved some passes for people who lost out in a lottery or something,
Its the perk of donating I guess, I dont see at my level that paying a thousand to jump levels makes sense to get a parking pass that may not exist when my number is called anyway.
It wouldn't surprise me that going digital is a big cause of the issue going forward. Why not buy 2 when selling is so easy now. Still that doesn't explain the West lot going so fast. But if you have the means to buy nice seats you go up the pecking order, then you can buy additional passes and people in those same lots get locked out and raise the value of your own passes. Even if 10% of people who can, now by their 2 passes that's a ton of inventory gone. But what if it's even higher than that doing it?
Agree, I use to get the lot at lower levels no issues.I dropped a level (or maybe two) this year but in past years I used to see openings in HILL and LYM, let alone the WEST lots. It seems crazy that everything around campus was booked this year. Especially since the majority of STHs haven't even gone yet.
I'm level 6, my donor rank is higher than last year. I couldn't get a west lot pass Friday. The main issue is that from the sounds of it you better at worst be a level 6. The cast majority of people are level 8, that leap is almost $2000. Pretty steep to not even know you would get a pass. anyway
I think part of the issue is the curve from 6-7-8-9 money wise makes no sense really.
8-9 the only difference is a name in a program that you can't even buy anymore.
7-8 is a 20% off coupon at cuse.com which gets used by how many people?
6-7 is a Drumlins thing, again how used is that?
the reality is that most people are in their level based on seat purchase and longevity is gone out the window.
They raised the prices but they didn't adjust the donor levels, did they?
Perhaps 6-7-8-9 should just be grouped together. That would make longevity meaningful again for 75% of the STH in this process.
But something else has happened here and they need to get a handle on it. They have the numbers to see what happened. Still it's strange that one year later its completely changed. Perhaps donations skewed a ton of people and alienated the STH base?
How many spots are gone since the 90s when we had the big crowds? What if we start selling more tickets, even more people will be left behind. Parking is not going to get better.
Honestly I could park anywhere. The issue is about equipment, and stuff for tailgate. And displaced Stadium West folks will be buying in new lots displacing those folks.
They are alienating a bunch of fans
Yeah redic... I'm 1727ish and I only buy football... I was 1.5 hours late myself. Donor rank maybe needs to be per sport not overall per entire athletics department. I mean seriously how many lower deck season ticket holders are empty for football games and they probably bought the parking ahead of time as a result of this and will never use it.Yeah, that is what doesn't make sense to me. By that time, all the spots in Stadium, Fine, Standart, the lots on the quad, both Women's Bldgs, both University Ave lots, and most of the VA garage passes were sold out? It is what it is, but it just doesn't make sense to me. Basically, you need a 3-digit donor rank to be guaranteed North Campus parking in a surface lot.
Yea. I know that 5000 level got spots before over there. Now we are saying 1500 level people can't get one? Thats crazy.Yeah, that is what doesn't make sense to me. My donor rank is 1505. If you noticed on previous games, they rent it out for tour busses, and other things. I'm sure ESF is making lots of BS cash out of it. I've seen tailgates on it too. There lot is used for parking any visiting teams. I'm sure it is a cash cow for them versus other parking, and I would imagine SU has an agreement with SUNY and all about it. Honestly we all need that area for opposing teams eat to get 'close', but it does feel like a slap in the face right now with the parking issues. So we have an ESF lot that would hold 500 slots at say $40 a pop going unused for years. easy 500K a year in revenue and people cant get that discussion done?
many places have parking issues. a pass is a perk. if you want two then up the anti if its a money grab. I had 8 tickets for 20 yrs and was never allowed 2 passes at Manley. we survived. they are selling out but also losing the base who kept the lights on for years.
If those 900 people have 3600 to 7200 tickets between them, the school doesn’t care where they park, just that those who have donated the most in this new environment get first dibs.Yea. I know that 5000 level got spots before over there. Now we are saying 1500 level people can't get one? Thats crazy.
As if 100s of people are buying passes who never did before. Would not be shocking if digital caused that. Not allowing easy resale would perhaps help some of that.
But we are all just speculating anyway.
Additionally, we also know that only 60% of people in the ranking have FB tickets so a 1500 level means that 900 people really got passes. 900 people bought 1500 spots or how many there are on that side of campus.
I agree. money talks. On the other hand its not like ticket sales are really up that much. Up over the last few years but still down from the 90s.You go back to when donations weren’t the big deal they are now. And those people are upping the anti. They buy more season tix thus are paying more in donations.
That for me was the best way to get to Stadium West.I was just apprised of this:
Due to I-81 project, little Renwick Ave. (@ bottom of hill west of the Dome) will be permanently closed this coming Wednesday. It connects Van Buren Ave. to MLK Ave. This sucks for those of us coming and from the west.
DOH. That route use to be how most of us, including myself and others got in and out easy to west lots. That is going to be a major traffic jam now as they will funnel north? It was a 5 minute drive from the staging homestead for home games. :/That for me was the best way to get to Stadium West.
So parking at MLK school this Fall might be a no go?
I’m sure you can park there, but I doubt you’ll be able to walk up to the lots by going under I-81.That for me was the best way to get to Stadium West.

Maybe that’s who you figure out the ESF lot for. I get it. It’s all money. But that still is a hard pill to swallow
“Hey i know you’ve supported us non stop for decades but this rich guy likes the team this year so he’s gonna take your parking spot”

Well I have been a football season ticket holder since 1996 and have always parked at Skytop. Taking the shuttle bus is a pain but I don’t really find it that much harder to get out of the city and home.Honestly making people renew their season tickets without letting them renew their parking pass is really bad business.
Not figuring something out with ESF is inexcusable especially given how limited inventory seems over on that side of the dome
Gonna have a lot of long time season ticket holders having to park and ride from Manley and skytop and that just sucks
I have a really silly observation here...
If you read the instructions, Step 3 says you have to select a physical hangtag, or mobile parking before you get to pick a parking lot.

Are people selecting "mobile" and being restricted to only the lots that allow mobile entry?
Are people being shut out of RAY and WEST because they made the wrong choice?

I've done both. They are not BLUE to me! If you just posted that today, and the fact I have the active choice right now means they are shutting people out selectively.I have a really silly observation here...
