2025 Yankees Season

I wish the Yankees would go after Bichette in the offseason, swallow their pride, and put an end to this Volpe 3 year experiment.

But I'd bet that isn't happening.
For whatever reason the Yanks never seem to be able to develop any position players. They regularly have decent prospects, but outside of Judge ~10 years ago, who have they brought up that is a top 5-10 player at their position?

I was really rooting for Volpe, but it seems like the organization is cursed for position player development.

Wonder if the Yankees will move on from Stanton, who's about to turn 36. 2026 is the year the Marlins start kicking in money. Would cost them $34M if they release him now. $54M for last 2 years of contract plus $10M buyout for option. Minus $30M from Marlins.

Cashman always loved Schwarber, all the way back to his Cubs days. He'll be on the market. If substituting contact with power is still on the Yankee menu, then why not upgrade.

Kirby won't be happy unless Boone and Cashman get fired, and Steinbrenner sells the team.
I'm resigned to nothing changing because for Hal this was a successful season.

3 Million attendance - check
Robust chicken bucket sales - check
5 home playoff gates - check

Can't wait for Cashman's annual excuse press conference after the World Series is done. One positive for next year is Yankees could have the top 1-4 starters in the league. Let someone else overpay for Grisham to give the Martian the same rope that Volpe's been given. Speaking of Volpe I don't want to see him in a Yankees uniform next year. Let Jazz walk after 2026. Also we're now inside Hal's two year comfort zone of cutting guys so the next Stanton injury tell Mike to hit the bricks.

I don’t post too much in this thread, but I want to say this is a good group of fans that follow and comment on all things NYY. A lot of insight, and some friendly disagreements here and there, but it often feels like I’m sitting in a big family room watching, or dissecting what is happening. It will be an interesting off-season (I think), and we will run it back next year with our same high hopes. Oh yeah, and another season of watching Aaron Judge…a privilege!

And 2 of those guys hit around Judge. Trent and Bellinger had solid to very good seasons. Unfortunately they just didn’t do enough this series. Should they have been benched? Definitely not. But in this game, have to find a way in limited at bats (relatively).

Bichette is already terrible defensively at SS. He is a good hitter, who has proven to step up in the clutch over a large career sample, but any management team that signs him to be a SS long term is making a mistake.

Not saying you can’t find a spot for him on the field as he is a very good hitter. (Not elite class though) Maybe second, possibly first or Left Firld. I hope the Jays are able to keep him and try him as a passable second baseman.

But as his defence is only going to get worse, a team might only be able to get away with his near pylon D at SS for one or two years max

Bo at SS moving forward, is the basketball equivalent of matching up Chris Bell against the other teams best offensive player.

Your terms are acceptable.

First, the ability to make adjustments at the plate doesn't begin on October 1. Rather, it's a cultivated skill sorely lacking in the Yankees batting order. They swing one way (for the fences) and they look for one pitch. How many times did I see them look at very hitable pitches, because they're waiting for the fat mistake that almost never came.

Let's sign him to exclusively play DH. Problem solved.
