2025 Yankees Season

Got the 1st two batters.

Walk
Single

Boone rolling the dice with him.

Can't blame Boone for staying with him, with Williams a dumpster fire and Weaver not available and the Rockies dude already back to Triple A not sure there's anyone else to go to.

GOLDSCHMINGER !!!

current farm system talent rankings (as of july 16th ) have the Yankees #27.

Cashman just reloaded the minors by acquiring Bird, lol - as long as he's Top 10 in our system after being sent down to AAA right after we traded some prospects for him, we're looking great!

Jones K percentage in the minors is soooooooooooo horrendously bad. I would have given him up for Miller.

is that 45 runs US or metric ? 1 mean first base in toronto is only 27.4 m away as opposed to 90 whole feet in the states.

Miller is unreal but you can't risk a star position player with a potential decade of service for a closer unless he's Mariano reincarnated.

Devries is the #3 prospect in baseball, and the Padres dealt him.

The previous (and only) prospects ranked as high to be traded:

Yoan Moncada (#1) (2016-Present) - Career WAR of 14.2
Lucas Giolito (#3) (2016-Present) - Career WAR of 13.3
Wil Myers (#3) (2013-2023) - Career WAR of 13.2

I get your point about a closer vs a top-tier pitcher (Sale, Shields, Eaton, etc..), but these guys are far from sure things.

Ya I mean if Miller was a can't miss starter that's one thing but for a closer I can't really justify giving away an elite prospect unless I have a team that's on the cusp and is just missing a shut down closer which the Padres aren't. I have a feeling the A's weren't trading Miller for Spencer anyway if it took the overall #3 prospect in the entire sport to pry him away I am sure teh As probably wanted him plus Schittler plus another. To me that's just to much even both don't work out. Yankees seem to have their new closer in Bednard, what they need desperately is a professional hitter and another power bat from the right side. Not to mention a bullpen that can actually stay healthy for a few months.

Still not sure I get this one but I assume he was out of options and got lost in a numbers game.

No more options, and probably refused to sign a minor league deal.

Thinks he'll get a major league deal somewhere else.

He's almost 32.

Try 1965 to 1973 (though there were a few notable players during that time: Munson, Mercer, Roy White a few others)
That was my Dad age 13-21. He's just old enough to remember the final 5 WS appearances of that era 1960-1964.
