Question regarding rehab assignments to levels below AAA - is the team's biggest concern how the player feels after playing rather than the performance stats? As a proven major leaguer, one would think Gil would mow down AA batters.

Question regarding rehab assignments to levels below AAA - is the team's biggest concern how the player feels after playing rather than the performance stats? As a proven major leaguer, one would think Gil would mow down AA batters.

They're concerned with building up his arm back to handle 80-90 pitches a game.

In his last rehab start, he threw 50.

Also AAA has a pretty set rotation. It's easier to give someone a spot start at AA.
