Now we got interviews mid game with his parents. Good lord.

This might be craziest box score I’ve seen. Definitely in October.

what the reason they took out the starter, too many pitches or not wanting to have the Yankees see him the third time through? I was a fairweather today and turned the channel for my mental health.

Analytics. LOL.

The kid rarely made over 80 pitches the entire year. Stretching him out in a 12-0 game would not be smart.

He started in low level Single A Ball (and climbed 4 levels), and they watched his innings this year by keeping his outings around 4 to 5 innings a start.

He is 22 and typically pitched 4-5 innings a game (less than 80 pitches), as this is his first year of professional baseball (started in low-A, then high A, AA, AAA, than the majors).

He has pitched 80-90 pitches in his major league games but those have all been with an extra day of rest I believe. They want him available to be used in game 5.

Jays have used 6 pitchers now and their starter didn’t allow a single hit through 5 plus. That’s hilarious.

John Schneider loves to rotate them quickly (and not always in a good way). Thankfully there is the 3 batter rule or it could be worse.

At least none of our high leverage guys got beat up (so far).

I guess the problem is the Jays that will pitch to start the first 5 innings of a bullpen game in game 4 (if neccessary) will have all been touched up to some degree in this game 2, So that was a positive for the Yankees.

The kid pitched an amazing game. Equally or better than Schlittler's game the other night. The Yankees batter were totally clueless.
