The first year class is in gold on the image in the tweet below.. It's very weak this year,

Other then Cole Hamels, I don't think any get the requisite 5% to stay on the ballot past year. Braun had some good moments but he also had steroid controversy.

Maybe Hamels gets in the Hall in a number of years, but it's a bit of a longshot in my view.

Those are the only people I even considered this year.
I would only vote for Beltran and A-Rod.

That being said Beltran will get in this year and Andruw Jones might. With no strong candidate in the first year class I suspect both Beltran and Jones, who were 70% and 66%, will get to 75% this year.

Jones might come up just short -- say 73% or 74%. but once you reach that level you are pretty much guaranteed the year after.

So Beltran in 2026
Andruw Jones in 2026/2027.

I would love to see Mattingly and Murphy get the nod. Would like to see Fernando get some votes. The steroid guys are still off my list. At least for now it seems too soon.
