Back in the Day, Lamar was a lock to make the tournament and then lose to a Power team in the first round. I was so disappointed when I drew them in our office pool one year.

Back in the Day, Lamar was a lock to make the tournament and then lose to a Power team in the first round. I was so disappointed when I drew them in our office pool one year.

Lamar’s glory days are gone from when they had Billy Tubbs. My eldest son started when he was only around 5 or so, fell in love with Billy Tubbs style of play at Lamar and Oklahoma.

I miss the days when I would follow the conference tournament schedule updates from Marsh and Alsacs for a couple weeks leading up to the conference tournament so I could know exactly which day(s) I might have to take off from work to watch us at the bar. Sometimes I would even greedily hope for a lower seed so I’d get an extra game to watch or an afternoon slot so I could leave work.

Now, it went from wondering if we’d even get in to me being impartial as to when it is or who the opponent is. I will watch and cheer but this feeling is awful.
