2026 Lax Pick ‘em: Week 5

Another rough week line wise, to my eyes at least. Hoping not to many of these go sideways.

Albany -5.5 - I will probably regret this but it's a home game for the Danes coming off a pretty rough stretch of good teams and Hobart while scrappy could only muster 7 goals against ROMO. Back door cover by Hobart late is a major concern here

Umass - 3.5 - Mass is 6-1 with there only loss being to Army. They just beat up on Albany whose better then Vermont and the game is at Umass.

Duke -9 - This game is at Air Force but it's hard to see how Duke doesn't win by at least 12+ goals. AF struggles to score and Duke's defense is outstanding. In two "peer" type matchups Duke beat Bellarmine by 15 and Vermont by 16. Cue these guys winning by 9 now of course.

OSU +2.5 - Zack has talked me into this one. ND only beat OSU by 1 last year and 3 two years ago. This game is at OSU and I'm getting the hook, though 3.5 would have been outstanding.

Pending a 5th pick

Going Holy Cross +5.5
Liked Siena but their home/away splits are horrific

Shocking blowout loss for Cornell and a surprising blowout loss for Rutgers given their defense.

Princeton is for real as is Richmond.

Funny I think Princeton burned me 2 years straight vs Rutgers so I stayed away and they absolutely buried them. That team not getting to at minimum a final four would be shocking

seemed like 2 guys had feeling bout holy cross today. Thought bout it myself as colgate seems totally off their usual without the conners. Also kicking myself as loved siena but didn’t pull trigger. Least 3-5 picks i debated long n hard n talked myself out of it n course they all been winners. Sadly now gotta hope the dookies can help me out.

My picks:
Georgetown at Richmond -2 - Richmond W
Syracuse -2 at Johns Hopkins - Syracuse W
Cornell at Penn State +1.5 - Penn State W
Notre Dame at Ohio State +2.5 - Ohio State W
Harvard at Michigan +4 - Michigan L
Looks like 4-1 for me.
I'd like to thank Syracuse's goalie McCool, whose hot 2nd half play insured Syracuse's covering the spread.

I liked Siena to, should have done it instead of Albany allowing a back door cover late

Syracuse -2 vs. JHU
Cornell -1.5 vs. PSU
Ohio State +2.5 vs. ND
Richmond -2 vs. Georgetown
Maryland -10.5 vs. Delaware
3-2 this week. But picking Cornell should probably count as a double loss.

Tough outing for Virginia. Towson got a big game from their goalie Nilan.

It seemed a little strange that the announcers focused so much on UVa's loss to Hopkins last weekend, when Virginia actually beat High Point 14-7 on Tuesday night.

I'm going to guess it was because of the way they lost to Hopkins.

10-13-1 YTD

Yale -2.5 vs. Fairfield (L)
Notre Dame -2.5 vs. OSU (L)
Cornell -1.5 vs. PSU (L)
Richmond -2 vs. Georgetown (W)
SU -2 vs. Hop (W)
2-3 this week, 12-16-1 YTD. At least I didn't take the collar this week. Jeremy was right! ;)

Fairfield +2.5 (W)
Canicius -2 (W)
Binghamton +2.5 (L)
Georgetown +2 (L)
Utah -1.5 (W)

I watched it live and every time St. Joe's looked like they were going to extend their lead they would let Drexel back in it. Another rough week

Hey, St. Joes covered thats all that matters, 2-3 vs 1-4 is enormous. I was tempted to take St.Joes but felt it would be a rock fight.

Lines for games on Tuesday (just came out):

Albany +4.5 at Georgetown
LeMoyne +6 at Hobart
Canisius +1.5 at St. Bonaventure
Navy +1.5 at Jacksonville
Queens +1.5 at UMass-Lowell
Dartmouth +1.5 at Fairfield

orange79 & I will not be able to get Rutgers @ St. John's
