Brooks Koepka leaving LIV Golf 'to spend more time at home'
Five-time major champion Brooks Koepka is stepping away from LIV Golf, effective immediately, his representatives said Tuesday.www.espn.com
I think he still qualifies for most, if not all, of the majors.I hope they let him back on tour. He’s one of the few guys worth watching.
Yes he has a 5 year major exemption for winning the 2023 PGAI think he still qualifies for most, if not all, of the majors.
When you think about it, other than Bryson and Jon Rahm, LIV doesn't have much in the way of star power.
I've heard some argument (can remember if it was No Laying Up podcast or Shotgun Start) that Rory winning at Pebble, The Players, completing the career grand slam at The Masters, and winning an away Ryder Cup (even though he lost to Scottie in singles) is better than Scottie winning two majors, the most tournaments, and the most money. I'm in Scottie's camp on this one.Scotty won the golfer of the year award which almost no one can argue about, but Rory had a great year that would have won it often. These two have separated themselves for the rest of the tour by a large margin.
Rory also won the Irish Open and the Race to Dubai title.I've heard some argument (can remember if it was No Laying Up podcast or Shotgun Start) that Rory winning at Pebble, The Players, completing the career grand slam at The Masters, and winning an away Ryder Cup (even though he lost to Scottie in singles) is better than Scottie winning two majors, the most tournaments, and the most money. Koepka returning to PGA Tour, 3 stars could follow
Brooks Koepka is returning to the PGA Tour as part of a new Returning Member Program, which would also allow three other stars from LIV Golf to come back.www.espn.com
I like it. Bryson and Rahm are the only two left that matter. Carve out an exception for them and give a big middle finger to Phil. That was quick.
Concerning: 'The Returning Member Program'
"This is a one-time, defined window and is not a precedent for future situations," Rolapp wrote. "Once the door closes, there is no promise that this path will be available again."
Obviously, they threw this together for Brooks, and are now trying to get Rahm and Bryson. Why is this a 'defined window'? Why is it only for major winners? I think the PGA Tour management stinks - so transactional, so lacking in integrity.
And if Rahm or Bryson decide to ask for reinstatement after the window closes, I'm sure the the PGA Tour will quickly come up with another window.
Its almost as exciting as the MG match with his brother last summerStill T1 through 2 rounds!!! Oh man. Biggest moving day of his career is upon us.
Tied for 2nd along with Harry Hall and Chris Gotterup at -10 after three rounds. Davis Riley is stand-alone first at -12. I think Kevin Roy will be in the 2nd to last group. Should make for some good Sunday night TV watching. A win would be life changing but even a top three would give him a great start for 2026. Good luck Kevin.Still T1 through 2 rounds!!! Oh man. Rough Sunday for Kevin Roy. Ends up T-13 with a $163k pay day. Good start to the season especially considering this was his first time playing in Hawaii on the Tour.Tied for 2nd along with Harry Hall and Chris Gotterup at -10 after three rounds.
