I'd love to have Nixon back. He's underrated.

Absolutely, he takes some unnecessary flack for being a coach's son. He's obviously not RB1 material, but he's a steady pass catcher out of the backfield.

Would be my preferred path as well. Get a proven option, be it G5/FCS/whatever - someone who can actually play if needed + a young guy with some real upside to possibly step in for 2027 and beyond.

You can get all of the transfer portal QB's you want but if he doesn't replace the OL coach and get a real professional in there to do a major revamp, you'll just keep getting your QB's injured every season. Williams is the wrong guy.

Kyle didn’t get hurt last year and Steve got hurt on a designed roll out play. I do agree we need a better OL coach though.

McCords pass protection, especially on blitzes (thanks LA) was better. Get rid of Williams.

You're going to see the flood gates open with portal entries starting Sunday / Monday...don't panic as many are being told to. I'd say 75% of the portal entries will be players that Fran has said have to go.

I's prefer Nixon over Gattis. He's had more success as an OC. Love Gattis in his current role.

I am not a fan of Gattis as OC at all. Perfectly happy having him on staff as a WR coach though. I think that is where he should be given his history.

He has been pushed out or fired 3x already. He has experience but it isn't good. I much rather have Nixon calling his son's number 10x a game and keep our passing attack.

He was with Franklin for awhile. Wouldn't he want Gattis at VA Tech as OC if he were any good? His buddy let him go from Maryland. Michigan fans did not like him and it appears he was pushed out there. He was fired by Miami. At that point, wouldn't Franklin or Harbaugh have given him a quality control job if they thought highly of Gattis? Instead he lands here?

People have mentioned Addazio but I think it is too late for that. At his age and being out of the game awhile I don't think that is the direction to go now. But someone similar might be available soon: Kyle Flood.

He has a ton of OL experience. He can offer suggestions from his HC and OC experience. And most importantly he can recruit the hell out of the Northeast. He is a poor man's Addazio but much much younger.
