2026 Schedule Tidbits

UVM was a tourney team when we played them in 2021. Still were pretty good in 2023. Just really dropped these last couple years. Don't think it was an issue that they were on the schedule but definitely was time to drop them. Nothing wrong with a couple easy games on the schedule though. Basically every team does it.

No rematch from 2023. Does anyone know if that bonnies game was just a 1-time thing or is it something else.

Lacrosse is unlike fball, most games unless with another power opponent or longtime rival are usually one offs for the home team or set up purposefully for recruiting purposes. The Bonnies game was a one off to fill the schedule that year and the Hofstra game was for the Long Island guys to play in their backyard. SU won't be playing either again anytime soon.

Yeah, not a cakewalk by any means but also not facing murderer's row. OOC schedule doesn't give them a ton of breathing room to boost RPI if the conference has a down year. Dangerous - most of their OOC opponents are good enough to play hard and surprise with a win, but not quite so good as to have a surefire boost to their (UVA's) RPI.

Looks like they added Stony Brook, Dartmouth and Drexel. They dropped Ohio State, Albany, Lafayette. Feels like dropping OSU is a pretty big hit, not made up for the fact by picking up say, Dartmouth. Pretty weak sauce.

I saw someone say that a team's schedule tells you a lot about how the coach views their team. Would say Tiffany is not super confident in his teams abilities if this is what they are rolling with.

disagree on weak sauce, seems just what the doctor ordered for this year. they can't take a tosu/rich/hop hit again this year. that doesn't even include the terps ooc.

7 games ooc look like they should win unless they're just not good enough. dartmouth and towson of that group very likely top 20.

then 7 games of acc with umd/hop/rich. even if they only pulled 2 or 3 of those games, that's 9-5 or 10-4, pre-hopeful acc tournament. and they're plugged back into the ivy.

absolutely a schedule that works for them in 2026.

Should we be scared of Hopkins then? This game is also on the road
cuse will be solidly favored but recent games with hop have been very close...

lars is playing with fire by not replacing osu with a comparable team...if theyre good it won't really matter...if they end up being a bubble team then that could prove to be a factor..

As a Hopkins fan, I don't think Cuse should be sweating that game. They'll still need to play hard, of course, but Hopkins consistently plays one of the toughest schedules in the country.

It's early (ish) in the season and Hop will still be breaking in a lot of new pieces. The midfield might give Cuse some trouble but I think the Orange will have a clear advantage on both ends of the field. Always possible players continue to progress and that JHU's attack makes a leap this year - but even on the road I think Cuse does well here.
