2026 Schedule Tidbits

Have heard that Princeton and Penn will be a road weekend. Part of an ACC/Ivy deal similar to what Princeton/Penn did last year with Duke/UNC in a three day span.

There will be a spring break trip, not sure where. Jacksonville would be an option but I have no insight.

Probably why none of the starters played in the scrimmage vs Princeton.

Wait your hearing SU will play Princeton and Penn in a road weekend? I can't see how that fits into the schedule from what we know.

the princeton game is prob in the works for 2027...they are not going to play a reg season game this year after scrimmaging in the fall.

So if the following rumors are true, the schedule would look something like this. No idea if this is really feasible. It can't, can it? IL Preseason ranking in paratheses.

Home: Maryland (1), Georgetown (5), Duke (11), UVA (13), Boston U (16), St Joe's (NR), Colgate (NR)
Road: Princeton (2), Notre Dame (6), UNC (8), Hopkins (14), Harvard (15), Penn (NR), Denver (NR), Air Force (NR)

That's a 15 game schedule even before the ACC tournament. That's not even taking into consideration a game vs Cornell (4) which I have to assume will happen this year (fingers crossed at least). I feel like nyclax has to be correct, the Ivy League games vs Princeton and Penn have to be for '27 ... right?

CA is in a position to know so not doubting him but that schedule would be absurd on so many levels and doens't make sense. Again assuming the Air Force/Denver trip is accurate. If it's not then playing Penn/Princeton in a Fri/Sun round robin with another ACC team makes sense. I have hard time seeing how both sets of games could possibly be on this years schedule.

ya to be clear i have no inside info on this im just assuming they wont play in the spring because they just scrimmaged. ..you never ever see that happen anymore...

Love the Gait Haters trying to claim hes "scared" because we arnt playing Army, im so sorry we are only playing 8 confirmed, presumably 9 tournament teams from last year and not a team that (somewhat unjustly, but still) has missed the tourney the past 2 seasons.

On inside lax write up of scrimmage vs princeton it states that cuse n princeton looking to schedule a regular season game for next spring but hasn’t been iron out yet. Not sure if that’s talking bout following spring not one coming up. But have to assume it’s for 27 spring schedule not this year. Which makes more sense the penn/princeton weekend game being in 27. Mccarthy was on first line n kinda like it. As rhoa n deere are not fast or super athletic to get back on d. So with mccarthy out there he least is one can stay on prevent fast breaks. Also really hope the kids confidence grown n he performs on O way more then he did. He showed some nice flashes of O skills at times. Just more seems he was to shy to do anything n play in shadows more. Also needs work on his shooting.

Hope Gait takes into account the potential for overkill. Loaded team but you don't want to run the gauntlet week in and week out. A princeton game would certainly be great especially after this years up and down score fest but need to keep a few gimme type matchups in there.

haha yep looks like happy learned how to putt alright. gary finally learned how to schedule...no more cupcakes that do nothing for you. they were nearly upset in the 1st round this year because they had a tough opponent, because the RPI wasnt good enough for a top 4 seed..i dont think you can do overkill for a team that you think has championship potential. it's one thing to do this in 2022 but this 2026 team should be able to handle the gauntlet...

I certainly hope so, I watched Desko schedule like this with mixed results. Your right the RPI boost should be significant and SU has the Sr laden team and depth that should be able to handle it. I do personally like to see a gimmie game or 2 on teh schedule, allows some of the backups in and can be a re-start if the team is struggling a bit.

that's pretty interesting, psu probably hasn't played an acc for a decade since the b1g was formed. juiced their schedule with ivies and it's mostly worked out whenever they've had a good year. guessing tambroni-petro connection made it viable to get done.
The Crown is organized by former Team USA & Penn St player, Chris Schiller. I believe PSU has played in this event more than anyone else from the D1 ranks.
