2026 Schedule

I’m usually optimistic but Cal UVA and SMU are all good. A lot of unknowns for us coming off a 3 win season.

win: UNH
Should win but can’t chalk it up: UConn, UNC, and BC
Toss ups: UVA, SMU, Louisville, NCST, cal, Pitt
Probably lose: Clemson
Loss: ND
Everyone of these teams will have turned over about 40% of their roster by the time the season starts. No one knows how difficult this schedule is.

I assume Cuse will get 2 in Sept, Oct and Nov. I do like your thought though and the schedule says this. I did some checking. We either have to have bye or host Cal Saturday night the second week. It appears all other teams are a no go.

2026 through 2029 is a 1 bye year.

My best guess of a bad schedule

Sept 5 New Hampshire
Sept 12 Cal (night game)
Sept 19 @ Pitt
Sept 26 @ UNC
Oct 3rd @ UConn
Oct 10/11 Louisville
Oct 17 Bye
Oct 23/24 SMU (or Thurs if SMU has bye Oct 17)
Oct 31 @ BC
Nov 7 Clemson
Nov 14 @ UVA
Nov 21 @ NCSt
Nov 28 Notre Dame

agree...i'm just glad we didnt waste them this year for UNC.

I guess a halloween day game should be fine -- it was the night game last year on a Friday that killed what the locals with kids could do.

maybe smu at Noon? and clemson on friday?! that would be great...
Agreed if we play on Halloween a Noon game is best.

Wow, pirates play at 12:30 the day of the Pitt game. Believe they share parking lots. That’d be a nice day to start the pregame at a day baseball game in Sept. if weather is nice.
I will go to at least one Pirate game as part of that road trip. Their ball park is beautiful and has been on my list to visit for decades.

I say this annually, I don’t get why Syracuse fans don’t make this Pitt game more of a priority. If we cannot beat Pitt and BC, we don’t stand much of a chance with the OOC or rest of the ACC. Make Pitt a fruggin priority and assert ourselves as the best program in the Northeast. Set that as the foundation and build from there.

x1000. Pitt always seems to bring more intensity to our game, like a rivalry game should be.

Virginia is my pivot game to the season. It'll be the end of a 3 game road swing.

We'll either have momentum to set up a "special season" with a win or we'll need to right the ship. It's a little bit of a "house money" game too.

I like the Clemson placement. We are sandwiched between their games v FSU and Ga Tech.

My only quibble is that I would have switched the Pitt and UConn dates in a perfect world.

Beyond that, LGO!!!!

Tom...I'm intrigued by this...gotta work some issues out on the home front. I can't do a huge tailgate...but maybe something for 15-20

You won't regret it. It's beautiful. Pittsburgh has really done great work to rejuvenate the city over the past couple of decades.

UConn will be our big tailgate.

Deciding between UNC or NCSt as the other away tailgate.
If you do UNC, I’ll do everything in my power to get there. With my wife’s permission, of course.

At the moment it looks like I can be at both and can help. Possibly at UVA as well, still working on that. Im not taking kegs up to C’ville though :-(

I'm not sure I can go back to the scene of the crime from our last trip there...I think i'll reset things and watch at home this time!
I'll feel like Rambo going back to Vietnam after my experience there in 2024.

I love Pittsburgh. Punches way above it's weight in many ways. Probably no other city did a better job reinventing itself from a blue collar manufacturing town to a white collar finance/medical/tech hub.

I think the schedule sets up well for us. Cal at home...Cal will be very confident with all the hype they are getting. That is a trap game for them. We are absolutely due for a win against Pittsburg and they will be over confident as well because they always beat us. I think we are setup to be underdogs which will play to our advantage as long as we have a functional QB. A sneaky 3-0 start is possible.

Cal was never really very good last year, they did manage to win some games

But still losing to SD St 34-0

BC by 4
UNC by 3
Losing to Hawaii
Smoked by Stan.

SMU/UL were good wins
