2026 Spring Football Schedule/Spring Game

I prefer the bell too but if you’re telling me that the “Oh, Nooo, thats how rough riders roll” wouldn’t be an amaaaazing chant/follow along to hear from 40,000 in the dome… that could be incredible. Maybe they keep the bell too, pre snap, we dont know

It is going to be an embarrassing chant if/when maybe 10% of a majority pasty, Caucasians attempt it.

I LOVE DMX but that song isn't the one. Because I love DMX, I know enough that I don't think it's a great look and understand why you wouldn't want that at a kid friendly event. Yes he's from NY but also he got arrested for trying to car jack someone at a NY airport while high on crack among other things and has some less than PC lyrics in his catalog. To say it's and odd, uninformed choice is an understatement.

Also, as stated, it's not going to work with that song specifically.

We’re at the mercy of Fran, its his show.

Also, there are fan bases in the SEC chanting along to plenty of similar songs and their fanbases make us look like straight up Parisians and urban royalty.

Sure its a family event, but its a college campus too. Gen Z and Millennials listen to this music.

I just want folks to be loud. We can barely get folks to yell on third downs. Consistent noise makes a difference. The Miami game was awesome. It’s a morgue otherwise.

Got to do whatever you can to make the atmosphere more party like. Not only does it give the home team a more competitive advantage. It drives revenue if people are going to the bars to buy more drinks.

I was able to find this full game video on a random YouTube channel, in case anyone wants to watch/re-watch. I couldn't find it On Demand in the ESPN app or anywhere else

After re-watching after being there in person, I have some better observations:

WR is going to be the major strength of the team. I expect us to throw the ball a ton like always under Fran/Nixon. Weaver may not run past guys, but he'll be our new Meeks. Great possession reciever who just makes catches. Hatcher looks the best he ever has. I'll admit I was a doubter, but he seems to be poised for a big year. Add in Boobie, Gough, Moore, Outten, Merriweather, Wilfong, Williams etc and we have an incredibly deep WR room. Wilfong is going to be a good one, he reminds me a little of Taj Harris.

LB also seems to be another major strength. Between Deslauriers, D'Appalonia, Bryant, Tremble and the young guys, we may have a legitimately good LB corps. Hard to tell about the pass rush, but I believe it will be better than last year with the additions we brought in.

As far as the QBs, I was impressed by Lott. He seems to have "It" and will hopefully be the future.

I wasn't super impressed by Odom to be honest. 1 INT, should have been 2, and had some real trouble throwing those short passes until the last drive. Even on his long Wiltfong completion, it should have been a TD but was severely underthrown. Hopefully it was just some off-season rust, and maybe I'm being hard on him, but I didnt see much to think he'd be good. Probably serviceable. Even so, the QB room is 100% better than last year

I was busy during the spring game. With some searching on the ESPN app, on Saturday night I had found a link to watch it but fell asleep before finishing. Yeah It was a thriller... But I really did want to watch the entire thing. I searched forever for an ESPN link but I don't think its available anymore. Has anyone found a link on ESPN that still works?

The writeup on Syracuse is something else ... did Hale smoke a joint before posting this?

Most conversations about Syracuse's ability to compete in 2026 will revolve around the health of starting QB Steve Angeli, though the Orange added some intriguing transfers in Malachi Nelson (a former five-star recruit) and Amari Odom from Georgia Southern.

Player to watch:
Half the fun of getting a healthy Angeli at QB will be seeing what he can do with a supremely talented receiving corps. Syracuse inked its best recruit in decades with five-star Calvin Russell (the No. 4 WR in the country according to ESPN), as well as landing another blue-chip receiver in Amare Gough. However, Russell will miss an "indefinite period of time" after suffering an undisclosed spring practice injury last month. Add in established veterans Johnny Cook and Darrell Gill and an emerging crop of tight ends, and Syracuse should have plenty of weapons in the passing game.

Journalism is dead.
lazy reporting

Fran should focus between the lines. He’s not head dj, cheerleader, rally organizer.

His patter is already stale.

SEC games are insane. LSU student section is singing along to a number of current hip-hop songs throughout the game.
I was at Clemson last year and they play amazing music in-between every play. We jumped on them from the start, it was a noon game and extremely hot, but that is one of the non-SEC venues that do a really good job of making a fun atmosphere.

Agreed. I’m all for him pushing for improvements in things outside of on the field play, if he think can be better. But he shouldn’t be the one carrying them out. How are these types of activities not already someone’s else’s responsibility?

You all are forgetting that Syracuse has a limited budget. They do not have the resources to be out with a full game day marketing staff.

The gameday marketing staff is literally unpaid interns running everything.

Because of this, if Fran has an idea of something that will pump up his team or the team has an idea that is going to pump them up and they want the fans to help in, why would we not support it and encourage it:?

Quite honestly, your response show whats wrong with this fan base. You go and poo poo your teams HC because he is trying to build something at Syracuse? Hes trying to build a better game day atmosphere? Yeah sorry hes trying to help improve on multiple levels to help with recruiting as well? Like seriously?

Also as a HC he sure is the head DJ, Cheerleader and Rally Organizer. He is the face of the program.
