Women's Lacrosse 2026 Spring Practice

Second Team
A- Olivia Adamson, Gr., Northwestern
M-Emma Muchnick, Sr., Syracuse

Third Team
D- Coco Vandiver, Sr., Syracuse

Emma Muchnick and Brigid Duffy are first team all-americans. Syracuse will have more than two on the first three all-american teams at the end of the year. I'd expect at one of our attackers (Volpe, if healthy all year, or Guzik) to land on one of the first three teams and Kaci Benoit too. Syracuse Lacrosse is wildly underrated this year and Im here for it. Can't wait for Friday afternoon in the Dome. Hopefully the weather allows Maryland to make the trip up this year...

Who is Brigid Duffy? Not on the roster.

Granted, huge distractions last year with the Olivia Adamson fake injury nonsense, and the gruesome end to the Treanor era. But, it's a bit early to say that SU is "wildly underrated."

We have a new head coach, who will actually have to install an offensive strategy instead of passing the ball around hoping a defender falls down. And, draw control is a huge question mark.

Brigid Duffy is a middie from Albany area that plays for army. Just saying that she and Muchnick should be first team AA. As for this year’s edition of the Orange, I say they are underrated because they underachieved last year. There was a lot of young talent that was betrayed by their leadership, both head coach and captain. This year there is no leadership vacuum, muchnick and Thorpe are both outstanding leaders and the young talent has a another year of experience.

Brigid Duffy scored 10 against Princeton last weekend in their scrimmage. She is a special player.

The Orange will recognize the 15 For Life Foundation at the home opener against the #7 Maryland Terrapins. 15 For Life aims to better equip people of all ages to understand and recognize depression and mental illness potentially affecting themselves, family and/or friends.

The foundation was inspired by three-time All-American Syracuse Lacrosse player Rob Kavovit, who passed away in March 2021 at 45 years old.

Feb. 13 vs #1 North Carolina at 2:30 p.m. – Pink Day
The Orange will host a Pink Day when they take on the preseason top-ranked and reigning National Champion North Carolina Tar Heels. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and pack the Dome in support.

Feb. 24 vs #18 Loyola at 5 p.m. – Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day
Syracuse continues its stretch of matchups against ranked opponents when the Orange take on #18 Loyola at the Dome. The matchup with the Greyhounds will be the team's Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day.

The Orange topped the Greyhounds on the road last year behind Emma Muchnick's career-high five goals.

March 3 vs California at 5 p.m. – White Out
Syracuse kicks off March with an ACC matchup against California, and fans are encouraged to wear white and white-out the Dome. The Tuesday tilt marks the first time the Golden Bears have visited the JMA Wireless Dome since 2004, when the Orange won, 17-9.

March 6 vs Virginia Tech at 5 p.m. – Otto's Kids Club and Youth Day
Syracuse keeps the ACC slate moving with a tilt with Virginia Tech. The game will be Otto's Kids Club and Youth Day! Members of Otto's Kids Club will have free admission to the game.

In the fifth all-time meeting between the Orange and Panthers, the women's lacrosse program will celebrate the service, contributions and sacrifice of our military veterans and active-duty service members.
