Dude, you better not say my mom.You know who else is...
Definitely not your mom.Dude, you better not say my mom.
My favorite part was the back up goalie. Great story and attitude. So many emotional moments from these guys 45 years after the game. I was in college in 1980, so I'm around the same age as these guys, and just watching them, watching themselves from 45 years ago, bringing up memories that they might not have even remembered was very emotional. And the family stuff. So powerful.
That's awesome, As an alumni of Oswego, I think the school will need to broadcast that, especially when they win the gold.Katie Million - Director of Women's National Team Programs

For those interested in some local ties to the Olympics and this USA Women's Team. Haley Winn from Rochester, Hayley Scamurra (Buffalo), Laila Edwarda from Cleveland, OH but played at Bishop Kearney in Rochester.
The Director/GM is from good ole, Hannibal, NY. She also happens to be my aunt who is more like a big sister. Went to Oswego State and spent many years in Lake Placid working for ORDA. Her other gig is being the manager for the 1980 Miracle on Ice, boy's. She has an incredible story and works her butt off... we are all very proud of her and keeping our fingers crossed that she could bring home a gold medal to CNY.
The US Women's Hockey team is on a mission! Absolute domination during group play, but we all know that does not always translate to the same end result. Although, US has won the past 7 games in a row against Canada which is a great sign.
Lots of talent coming through from the U16, U18, and College levels... future is very bright for women's hockey!
I hope Oswego State does something to acknowledge it, I am sure they will. That's awesome, As an alumni of Oswego, I think the school will need to broadcast that, especially when they win the gold.
And, my only time in Hannibal was a visit to the transfer station there. I've only been to a few dumps in my life, but I can vouch for the Oswego County Transfer Station. It's very well run and organized. And clean.
And they own one of the smallest mountains in the state. But tons of kids get their start on that mountain.Cochran comes from a huge skiing family in Vermont. While Ryan has won silver in two straight Olympics, a great accomplishment, his mom is the only Gold medalist in the family.

Congrats to the State of Vermont for three medals this Olympics. That says a lot about the great ski and snowboarding programs in the state. Looking at this list of Vermont medalists, the last two weren't from VT, but attended the Stratton Mountain School. And they own one of the smallest mountains in the state. But tons of kids get their start on that mountain.
Side note, they’ve got some of the best mountain biking in the state at their mountain in the summer.
Insane strengthGiven it’s not a sport a lot of every day folks have experience in or even spending time on skates the leg strength and conditioning required by these guys is insane and under appreciated.
