2026 Winter Workouts

Mixed feelings on this article hated that he said Cole weaver only had 1 touchdown yes that’s true but he has good production in yards and receptions. Also he ran out of players to name in the secondary lol.
Miami Ohio's QBs where almost as bad as our backups and they had a really good WR in Kamyrn Perry.
I think Cole can have better production this year.

Agreed. But my feeling aren't exactly mixed. I think that article was a piece of doodoo. There are a bunch of question marks going into 2026 but he seemed to focus on the negatives an awful lot. You can write your narrative without being biased like he wrote it.

On top of the Cole Weaver stuff, at WR he also completely forgot about the addition of the JUCO Zamondre Merriweather. Right now I'm thinking he may be most likely to be our #1 WR this year. Really liked his stats this past season and Juco film. He's a great add.

He was very harsh and only negative on the addition of Flounoy as a DT stating a low PFF grade. Flounoy was a true freshman who played a ton on a bad team. He had 22 tackles, was second on the team in TFL with 6 and lead the team in sacks with 3 from the DT spot at over 300 lbs. Also had a PBU. In looking at his stats he really turned it up at the end of the year. In the last 4 games of the year, he had 12 tackles, 4 TFL's and a sack in 3 of the 4 games. Not sure how well he will do at SU this season, but it sounds like a solid add to me. Its not easy to play DT in college as a true freshman. Do better research.

Regarding Adelaye on the DL he said he hasn't been special at his previous stops and says in two season at the Group-of-Six level, he has registered just 10.5 tackles for loss, including 8 sacks. Come on...really? Can you state that any more negatively? Dude was a Sophomore eligibility wise and this past season at UNLV and had 48 tackles, 7.5 TFL's and 6 sacks as a 275 lb DE. What exactly do you expect? That's just BS journalism.

at DB talking about the safeties, he stated that the orange added nothing to slot corner or the STAR position which is another BS statement. We got Nazir Ward from Western KY who didn't start but played a bunch as a Sophomore, racking up 35 tackles, 6 pass deflections and an INT. He played very well at CB in the bowl game to finish out the year in his first chance at starting PT. That is not nothing. We also brought in Amare Snowden who admittedly has not produced yet. He transferred to Toledo last year from Wisconsin but got injured before the season and didn't play in 2025 at Toledo. But Kheres brough him over with him so he should have a good feel for the kid. He was a 6'-4" 210 lbs CB at Toledo and is listed as a safety on the Cuse.com website. Sounds an awful lot like a STAR type of player to me. To make it sound like we didn't bring in a single player for the nickel, safety, STAR positions is straight BS.

I rarely ever comment on the SU sports journalists. I realize this dude has no background at SU and clearly doesn't have much love for the Orange but he seems to be holding a bit of a grudge. Likely towards Fran as Fran doesn't seem to like him all that much in media sessions. I'm all for not writing puff pieces and being honest, but his take seems unnecessary critical on some things and seemed to leave some facts out intentionally. Do better Javon. I think he needs to get canned.

As someone who could probably be categorized as over the top anally objective, I agree with your assessment, particularly about the DL additions.

Look who he works for and who he works with

AD and Tremble as workout partners. Fully expect Tremble to add 15 pounds this off season. (Only half kidding) lol
Has to be boring as hell being ADs workout partner.

"you need a spot? no... again? not ever huh. Yup I'll go find more weight from other racks again since you've already lifted everything around here on that warm up set"
