The 23-0 run we had tonight was the most impressive thing i've ever seen a team do on a basketball court, high school, college or pro.

They came to hoop tonight.

Can we finally buy into the hype now?

This team is loaded and has the horses to go all the way in March.

they didnt come to play -- they woke up and said you wolfpack

They got punched in the mouth and it was 29 23 'when they came to play'

Buy in to the hype? There is not enough hype about this team, we need to create some hype to be bought into. Here's some hype for ya: This team won't lose until February. Is that enough hype for you? Who's with me!?!?!

the scary part about that run for the future, depending on if everyone stays, is that it came with both seniors on the bench.

You make a good pt but KJ hit the 3 to go up 30-29

All the teams we play going forward saw that run. That run will help us somewhere down the line.

This is perhaps my only criticism of this site.

Too many threads talking about the same thing.

Mods, can we merge this thread with the one just created?

i think the scary part about that run for me was that the damage was mostly all long distance. from the 6:30 mark (when joseph finally got us the lead) to the end of the half we took 9 treys (made 5 missed4).add in two dunks and 2 inside misses (fab/fair) and 2 missed freethrows. i really don't think we can afford to rely on long rainbow treys for pts.

That run was very nice and the team got hot from deep which was great to see but it im not all in just yet. I do think this is a top ten team, which is a big accomplishment in my book, if that constitutes buying into the hype then ok. But, I still think there are some issues that need to be resolved before that happens. The slow starts to games, and slow starts in the second halfs of games is an issue for me, im not sold on this team outside shooting ability just yet and would love to see some consistancy going forward, rebounding is an area that could use some work as well, and i feel the half court offense could use a little work too. IMO this is a very good team and no one will want to face them, I think the potential is there for a NC and if this team can contunue to work on some of the smaller weakness' going forward (I don't see them as glaring issues, just areas where some work is still needed) then they could make a huge run come NCAA tourny time. Again, JMHO.

It was a great win a hostile building, but State was one of the worst defensive teams we've played to date. Matchups.

Isn't that wonderfully characteristic of ACC basketball.

Excuse my sloppy memory, but last year we gave up 19 points to start the game (Georgetown I think) and then rallied back by getting 19 straight points.
That was a very memorable moment for somone like me who can't remember what I was trying to remember.

At Pitt. They started with a 18-0 run and we came back with a 17-0 right after.

500 for round trip from NY to NOLA. That's one expensive flight.

don't forget the corollary to that 23-0 run, NCSU's 21-4 run spanning the two halves to erase the entire SU lead. That run exposed fatal flaws in Syracuse's offense (that's right, offense, not defense) that we will see more and more of as the schedule gets more difficult: no interior game to get a necessary basket when the bombs aren't falling, and the de facto go-to guy (Waiters) is an undisciplined shot hunter who has as much capacity to create multiple consecutive empty possessions as he does to make an electric play.

When the Orange start playing good teams, they are going to come down to earth hard. 23-0 runs are like a seasonal cocktail that goes off the menu when December winds down. Unless something changes (and I have some hope that could be the case), then I expect the Orange to be out of the top ten by March and unlikely to advance to the 2nd weekend of the tournament.

I am very happy with the win, the undefeated record, the #1 ranking and would love to be wrong, but my experience tells me that my eyes are lusting over false gold.

Yes, but, the most impressive feat was closing out the game the way they did. Granted Leslie was out, but he was gassed. Syracuse's depth proved too much for them to overcome. Various ways to skin a cat.
