3 Drops

Drops have been a major issue all year. Even at the beginning of games where we lose all of the momentum we've got a coming out of the locker room. I can't remember the specific game, but TJ dropped a post at the beginning of a game that likely would have gone for a TD. Way too much of that this year. Digressing a bit, the same could be said about tackling and obviously blocking. Fundamentals need to improve drastically in the offseason.

Benson's was tough to catch. On replay from a different angle I didn't fault him at all. It was difficult and we still got 3 points out of it.

The two bigger drops were #1 Riley and his crazy decision to make something out of nothing right after we just got them 3 and out trailing 7-3. (the very possession after our field goal.) Riley gave them the ball back at the 29 yard line. Next play 14-3. Riley should've been benched for that.

Then we go 3 and out because Neal doesn't make a play on 2nd and 4 with a big hole. we punt.

LVille ball. On their 3rd snap of the drive we drop an EASY interception at the 15 yard line. 4 plays later LVille goes up 21-3.

That was a HUGE hole to climb out, from what boils down to 2 missed plays.

One of the biggest areas for improvement that I want to see between now and next season is with the WR corps. I want to see more coming back to balls, I want much better blocking by the WRs, I want to see guys fighting for balls thrown their way, and I want guys drawing PI calls much more. Oh, and I don’t want to see WRs pouting and calling out their QB or walking back to the LOS. Run back, or get off the field.

Our WR coach has a lot of work to do.

Good thing we have two ;)
Also your post is spot on. WR corp was lacking this year.

I know this might come to you as a surprise but even Tom Brady has made some throws that are off the mark...

Yess That’s true. But you may have noticed that Brady also does almost everything else right. That, sadly, is not the case with our bo

Riley’s play was a huge momentum killer from a senior. He’s had such a disappointing season.

I noticed he was removed from the kickoff return rotation. He’ll be back this week I assume as Jordan sits out this redshirt preservation game. What a difference that kid is.
The fumble was also after a forced 3 and out which happened maybe twice all day. So deflating

I'm hoping Nykeim Johnson has a nice bounce back season. His injury has really set him back.

Please stop saying Hackett dropped the pass. No. 89 has not dropped a single pass all season.
Yea , my bad, it was cleaned up in the thread.

even on the Harris miss if he catches it going to the ground instead of trying to catch it standing up he probably makes a catch that counts.. Too many WRs do that leading to just out of bounds plays

Cool, Don’t think anyone cares that I’m calling it a drop and your not.

ok. how about this...

because the pass was behind him, benson probably wasnt getting into the endzone even if he caught it.

if it was a good pass, he probably would have walked into the endzone.

i still love TD. but that play was on TD - not Benson.
