It was three point night in the DOME. 14 made - best of the season so far.

More specifically Elijah Hughes night. His line: MIN 37 FG 8-13 3PT 6-9 REB 3 A 3 STL 3 PTS 22. One block, as he chased and caught and blocked the shot of a driving Cane player, was out of your seat exciting.

This team has begun to gel into a solid ORANGE basketball team with JAB trying various combinations to play against what was primarily a zone in the first half tonight. Slow start but we stayed with them in the first half and shot over the zone for 3's.

We are 14 – 5 , 5-1 going into a road trip that lasts three games.

I think the biggest takeaway from this game was the team chemistry. We are playing the like pundits said we were supposed to before the season began.

Chukwu played basketball in the second half blocking shots and scoring.

Players stepped up when Battle and Brissett weren't having the best shooting night but even TB had 9 assists so everyone was some kind of positive factor.

Buddy's continued flirtation with an ascending number of made 3's each game is looking promising.

MD with 5 REBS and 5 assists and a lone 3 ball.

Everyone who played contributed in some way and that's great!

Was great to see the players laughing, enjoying playing together - the game is so much fun and should be when you work hard, share the ball, help each other out, make some shots and of course - win!

did Hughes really step on the line on that one three or did he get hozed?

37 of 81 in the last 3 games, a blistering 46%.
I won't expect that to continue (oh please continue) but maybe, hopefully taper off to a very solid 35-36%.
Is that overly optimistic?

They only gave him one block? What about when he came over from the weak side and blocked Lykes and sent the ball to Bees? Ridiculous.

He was credited with 3 blocks.

Now I see my mistake. The OP was speaking specifically to that One block that was terrifically exciting. Whoops!

Chicken or egg. Maybe hitting jumpers correlates with the increase in assists.

Last night there were little to no hero ball where we jacked up a contested 3PT early in the shot clock, I was talking more along the lines of that.

The ball movement last night compared to GT was night and day. Defensive pressure from the other team may have something to do with that though.

It is fun when you see a team willingly give up the ball. Passing almost becomes contagious -- players don't mind passing up on shot opportunities to set up their teammates when they know that somebody will find THEM on the next shot. That's how we played last night.

Formidable to defend when we're clicking. There is more to the offensive performance than just three point shooting. Hope we can keep this up, because we certainly won't shoot like we did last night every game.

I think yesterday it was because Miami played zone. You Always hear those kind of assist stats from the teams playing against us if they are shooting well, “they have nine assists on 11 baskets…” it’s because you can’t really score on a zone without passing. Furthermore, that zone they played was the poster child of why people think zones suck at defending threes. The shots were so open it was almost comical. Absolutely credit to our guys for knocking them down but those were shoot around shots.

Ya your spot on here. Take nothing away from our guys making all those shots because lord knows we watched multiple games this year when we shot about 9% on the same looks but man that Miami zone was god awful. We had guys wide open, even Buddy when he came in didn't get any special attention as a 3 pt specialist. Bad job by Laranaga.

Yea, Miami applied none. GT did a lot.

This team is finally playing with a purpose and playing to their strengths. They are looking and finding their shooters in transition instead of just shot hunting. I think this has developed because of MD passing. Passing has become a positive with this team. 22 assists last night is the best stat of the season. This team is building a special chemistry as the go to their bench. This is something new. JB is finding that different combinations make this team better instead of just trying to play through bad stretches with just the starters. We need to look at this as a positive instead of saying someone is playing bad. Use the entire roster to make the team better. We now need to find a little mor3 time for Sidibe. I thought Pascal got a little tired around the 11:00 minute mark in the second half. Ten straight minutes is a long time for our bigs with all the effort they need to play with.

Actually, it may be overly pessimistic. Is there any reason we can't be one of the elite shooting teams in the country? JB doesn't seem to think so.

OP phrased it poorly.

One of his other blocks was also awesome - that weak-side swat into the seats was vicious!
And then OSB blocked the very next shot right after!
