so why did the crieghton kid get subbed out and come back in last game in the 2nd half?

If there is an injury, that player can leave the field for evaluation and a temp sub can replace him while he is evaluated. He can then re-enter the game with no restriction.

Could be some classic water/rest break, gamesmanship craphousery at play of course, but those are the rules. That was introduced this year if I remember correctly.
