30K on Wednesday?

Last year, against Duke. Very good turnout, proved me wrong after I'd predict it could never happen again. Before that it'd been over 25 years.

Not going to happen tomorrow.

I was away on vacation so I didn’t even remember that being a weeknight! Wow, that’s impressive.

I remember a push for 30k for a Monday game with UConn in 2000 when we were undefeated and they were defending champs, and it ended up being like 26,000. Awfully hard to get 30k during the week.

At least the weather will help for once, supposed to be high 60’s on Wednesday!

Here are our 30,000+ games. Not sure if there is a quick way to figure out if any of them were week nights.,

Great job! I've always stunk at Excel so it didn't even occur to me to use that.

Could’ve sworn that 2006 Nova game was a weekend. That was GMac’s last home game, right? Is it possible a leap year threw things off by a day?

And how did we get 30k for Miami on a weekday a few years ago? I don’t remember that game at all at the moment, but that’s pretty amazing.

It looks like Orangehoops had the date wrong. Cuse.com has that game as Sunday, March 5, 2006

The Nova game was definitely a Sunday, not a Monday. It was on March 5, 2006, not the 6th.

Thought so. Sounds weird but I remember how bright the Dome roof looked on TV because it was light outside, and I remember the upper level student section behind the basket had a ton of empty seats at tip-off(noon game?) and it was very noticeable on TV because the rest of the place was packed.

The only thing I remember about that game was how dejected I was that G-Mac was basically ending his Orange career with a loss that would keep them out of the tournament. Of course, we all know what happened the following week.

That 26,474 was louder than 90% of our 30,000+ crowds. One of my favorite games!

It was really nice for last years Duke game as well. It must've been in the 60s and wall to wall sunshine all day.

It was GMac’s last game and it was on a weekend. I came up from NYC for it. So this guy’s Excel spreadsheet didn’t work.

I was at the Miami game too in 2015 and that was also a weekend game, but in mid January. Not sure where things got screwed up in the Excel doc.

Speaking of that UConn game, just found these awesome extended highlights(16 min.) of that game. Don’t think I’ve seen any of this since that game aired. One of the best performances by an SU team ever, and that crowd was nuts. Team and crowd both seemed so hungry!

Bazley and Carey pushing tempo like that with Hughes and OB filling the lanes and Buddy spotting up for 3 would be a lot of fun.
