I long for those "run and gun" days. That was electric. Our current squad just cannot play that way unfortunately. Hopefully we will see more of it sometime in the future.
It was GMac’s last game and it was on a weekend. I came up from NYC for it. So this guy’s Excel spreadsheet didn’t work.
I was at the Miami game too in 2015 and that was also a weekend game, but in mid January. Not sure where things got screwed up in the Excel doc.
Unc is just as large a name in my opinion. I expect 28,500 thoughUNC is a large name, but Duke is at a different level in terms of appeal. If they got barely 30K last year, you are not going to get it this year.
I am thinking 26-27K. Hopefully I am wrong.
I thought it was a weekend for sureCould’ve sworn that 2006 Nova game was a weekend. That was GMac’s last home game, right? Is it possible a leap year threw things off by a day?
And how did we get 30k for Miami on a weekday a few years ago? I don’t remember that game at all at the moment, but that’s pretty amazing.

Still mad they put that game in the Silverdome
Wow that crowd was unreal
The location didn't matter when we were up 14 in the second half against MSU. That SU team could play some pretty tough m2m. That game vs UConn was perhaps the best man any JB team has ever played. And yet they couldn't switch to it when MSU went lights out on the zone and went on a 28-0 run or something.Loved that 2000 team.. still mad about blowing the huge lead against MSU in the Sweet 16. Still mad they put that game in the Silverdome
I heard 3000 in the dome sound like our typically 30,000 in the dome. And the sad thing is we’ve 30,000 people that you couldn’t pay to be so quiet and those are factsUNC is a large name, but Duke is at a different level in terms of appeal. Which 30,000 games were morgues?
Virginia last year wasn't. Duke 2014 and 15 weren't. UConn 2012? Georgetown 09? GameDay/Nova 2010? What about going back further to Pitt or Notre Dame (even Rutgers) 2003?
Rutgers in 2003 for sure (a couple senior day games have been like that). Louisville for College Gameday in 2006 I remember being dead. Somebody mentioned a 30,000 crowd for Miami a couple years ago. That one fits the bill, too. We don't remember that kind of game as well, though, it's the crazy 30,000 games that everybody talks about.
...
Boring games where the team is just not that competitive or clearly outmatched is generally going to have a bored crowd. I'm not sure that's exclusive to Syracuse.
Yes or no?
The Nova game was definitely a Sunday, not a Monday. It was on March 5, 2006, not the 6th.

With the way our zone forces the opponent to slow down and become very methodical, it's become more important that we're sexy on offense. We need to run and bring back a swagger. Right now every fan should be given a voucher for 1 free beer with every game ticket - to help get through these 53-48 rock fights. Include kids 5 and up.Boring games where the team is just not that competitive or clearly outmatched is generally going to have a bored crowd. I'm not sure that's exclusive to Syracuse.
28.5 was the figure I was thinking early on. May turn out to be higher, which would be nice.Unc is just as large a name in my opinion. I expect 28,500 though
