4 4 pod system or 2 8 team divisions

I'm not sure which one is better but 4 4 pod works for me just because that's SUs lucky number!

4 4 pod system - play 3 games in pod, 6 games in other 3 pods (2 teams of four rotating each year) meaning you play each team in 16 team conference once every 2 years leaving 3 OCC games - championship game is best 2 win-loss teams in entire coference - I think this is the stronger system to play on the BCS level because 2 best teams play in champ game

2 8 team divisional system - play all 7 games in division, rotate 2 games in other division playing a team in the other division once every 4 years leaving 3 OCC games - championship game is best team in each division. Could have 1 team much weaker in champ game

I say 2 8 team divisions because then your future is in your hands. In 4 4 team pods, there is a change 3 or even 4 teams are undefeated. Then you could have won all of your games, but still can get screwed by the polls or whatever determines the tiebreakers.

4 4 pod system doesn't work very well for football but might work for hoops.

How would you determine the two teams for the football championship? You run into a scenario where you have division winners with the same record as other division winners, but one or more get left out from the championship game.

It could work well in hoops. Play your own Pod home/home for 6 games and play the 3 other pods for 12 other games getting to 18 total.
