no.. THE TEAM needs to win playoff series's. Melo is doing his part dude. The team needs to step up. They built and traded around him for a reason, the team is not steping up.

Listen I love Melo as much as anyone on here but it's foolish to say that no one else is stepping up. Melo needs to trust his teammates more and let the ball movement happen. This ISO melo crap kills the team. They went on a 10-0 run, took the lead, then went to all Melo all the time. Ball movement died and without Chandlers rebounding they lose by even more...

The Knicks screwed up any chance of winning a championship when they signed Amare to a max contract. Replace Amare with another max contract guy in Dwight Howard and Melo and the Knicks would be favored to win it all. Can't succeed at the very top level of the NBA with a max contract guy who does not star for your team much less make much of a meaningful contribution.

That was so predictable. I get that any team with a star wing player usually goes iso in that situation but I hate that we have zero imagination. No plays being run, no cutters, pick n rolls etc, its just straight up dump is to Melo every play and stand around.
I agree with the above poster that Melos teammates don't step up ESPECIALLY in the playoffs which Melo somehow gets blamed for however, in games like last night Melo is going to get some blame when we went Melo iso the last 3 minutes of the game and he goes 1 for 5 in that scenario while D-Rose hits the game winner and Melo misses his.

That killed me. Deng and Butler are good defenders; if you run those iso's you're probably going to end up with a lot of contested mid range jumpers, which is exactly what happened.
The freustrating thing was that during one of those possessions they actually ran some action with him off the ball and he caught it going toward the bucket and drew a foul, but it wasn't a shooting foul. Then back to iso ball.

I will say, the Knicks played better than I thought they would @Chicago with no JR Smith. I don't think they will be as Kerr said "lucky to get to the second round". The second unit could be lethal with Pablo, JR, Hardaway jr, Artest and the KMart/Amare platoon.
If Bargnani can revert back to at least being a shooter, that really opens things up for Melo and gives him a second scorer along with an improved Shump. Chandler looks back to form and has developed a mid range jumper and Felton is solid.
As it was last year however, they need to figure out something besides Melo iso and that's it down the stretch. They won't win games, more importantly playoff series, against Miami, Chicago and Indiana if all they do is throw it to Melo and stand around hoping he can hero ball his way to a victory.
Last night I don't have a problem with the last play. 5 seconds left, you can't run pick n roll bc they would just jump Melo and you don't have enough time for that to develop. Lebron, KD, Kobe all take that same shot. However, the 4 plays before it... Run some motion, put Melo in a pick and roll, run Melo off a screen. Something...Anything. Melo iso won't win big against the top defensive teams in the league. That's not a knock on Melo, we see Durant having the same issues in OKC without Westbrook.
