There were alot of angry people on this board, rightfully so, after the Rutgers loss. We stood at 2-4 and had just played a horrible game against the girls. Doug's buttcheeks were apparently starting to get warm (which they weren't FYI), and people were calling for total reform within the football program.

6 games later, the SAME team coached by the SAME staff goes 5-1 overall and 4-1 in BE. Wins convincingly against LVille, UConn and Temple. Pulls off hard-fought wins at USF and Mizzou and loses a tough one on the road at Cincy.

We are going bowling, team gets to continue to practice and groom their younger guys for next year. Nassib, Lemon and the whole offense gets to continue to re-write the record books. Fans are happy, recruits are happy.

Great day to be an SU football fan. Feels damn good to say that!

Happy as hell with the last several games and the fact we're bowling. Still not happy we aren't at the very least 9-3 since we are clearly the best team in the BE.

No doubt, but the nice thing about it is that we could legitimately compete with any team on our schedule and were better and more talented than most of them. Couldn't say that a few yrs ago...

We are at a key point in recruiting. We only have a limited number of spots so its essential we get higher level guys to fill the available spots. We are thin at DE and OL. We need good kids there. Losing out on Officer and Curtis hurt but we move on. A bowl makes a huge difference in recruiting.

Don't be surprised to see a few JUCOs fill in some needed spots.

I would say that SU can compete with and/or beat just about anyone not in the top 15. We would need a legit dual-threat QB that can escape pressure to go up against elite teams that have more dominant front lines. At least for the remainder of 2012, we're a couple skill position players away from being comparable to the mid 90s. Of course, next year brings new personnel so this is all somewhat moot after the bowl game.
