Overall these matchups are great. I wish I could watch every game. The ACC and the SEC I believe both play the most games, and both could end up with a 13th game if Alabama and FSU win. I usually don't give bowl games a lot of weight in my mind, and I probably won't this year as well. However, these games are so good across the board it may be hard not to.

Like to see GTech dominate Miss St. That is one of the SEC's supposed super power teams.

I know I'm not as old as some of you guys :D but this is the most exciting college post season I remember. Just the playoffs itself I'm really excited for but the other bowl match-ups look really good too. I think being in the ACC helps, I always wanted the Big East to do well during bowl season but now in the ACC, we aren't watching conference games in the "is that really the name of the bowl" bowl. Or playing games against inferior conferences, like the bottom half of the AAC, MAC, or the top 5 of the B10 :)p). Other than SU not playing in the post season, this looks to be one of the most exciting lineups across the board, I can't freakin' wait and there are a crazy amount of games on tomorrow that I want to watch.

Besides the Jan 1st playoff games I probably won't watch a combined 60 mins worth of the other ones.

Without SU even close yo playing in a bowl the bliss is more like piss to me

Yesterday I was able to watch a lot of the action, and I wasn't disappointed. The ACC has shown up pretty well so far. David Cutcliffe had Duke ready to play, and they nearly pulled out the W. I missed the NC State victory over UCF, but NC State finished the season winning 4 out of 5 games including the bowl game. Their QB reminds me a little bit of T-Hunt. He's big, and he has a knack for eluding pressure and running the ball.

NC State against SU scored one TD on offense and 3 field goals. SU losing the turnover battle 3-0 including a pick-6 was the difference in the game. Just a reminder to me of how well SU's defense played most of the season under difficult circumstances, especially with the problems on offense. NC State came to the Dome off of a bye week, and SU was playing after it's loss on the road to Clemson. I was worried that NC State would blow out SU, so the outcome while frustrating was something I could understand. The board, however, cratered, fell off the grid into one of the deeper, more manic, doom and gloom phases I can recall.

Penn State reminds me a little of SU this season. PSU plays really good defense and often struggles on offense with a young QB. Yesterday in a great game PSU managed to beat the ever competitive BC in what was very much like a home atmosphere for the Nittany Lions in the Bronx. Penn State (with more scholarships, continuity at the top, and a more experienced QB) is coming. So is USC who won with 51 scholarship players.

I can understand why some of these bowl games on Mon and Tues are during the day, but many of us will be unable to watch those games. I'd rather be able to flip channels and see bits of each game at night. But that's my only beef with this system so far. I think it's an upgrade by a country mile.

Almost every bowl game so far has been great. Many talented young guys giving all they got for the sake of pure competition.

I love it! I love the bowls. New Years Eve looks to be great. Chick Fill-A bowl moved to the afternoon, Fiesta mid-afternoon, Orange at night...that is a little slice of heaven right tehre

Clemson took care of its business. They finished very strong beating South Carolina to end the season and then clobbering Oklahoma. My family includes a Clemson alum who raised his kids in Clemson, and I have a nagging impulse to remind them all gently that Clemson lost to Florida State without Jameis Winston. Winston missed the Clemson game this season because he was suspended. I thought Clemson would win that game, but it wasn't to be. That one had to hurt a little bit.

Technically, Notre Dame doesn't represent the ACC, but they won impressively yesterday nonetheless. As much as anything I was reminded that the Golden Domers' schedule this season was as difficult top to bottom as most of the schedules among the SEC schools especially the schools in the SEC East. This isn't always the case, but this season I think so. Stanford had an even more difficult schedule than Notre Dame, and they showed up yesterday as well. Both schools used the bowl practices to get right in a big way.

The Pac12 and the SEC are both taking care of business so far. The next two days will be interesting, but I see nothing so far to change my mind that those two conferences are the best this season top to bottom.

Overall, I think the ACC has played well. Last night Louisville was very competitive with Georgia in the first quarter. In the second quarter Petrino played his freshman QB, and the QB made some costly freshman mistakes. We are all pretty familiar with the freshman learning curve at the QB position. In the second half Louisville remained competitive but was never able to recover.

Clemson and Virginia Tech had great wins for the ACC - neither of which I really saw coming. But I really wish Duke and Boston College had been able to get it done to really make it a good bowl season for the conference. Right now, I think ACC is 3-6 (not counting Notre Dame) with a couple close missed opportunities. But I'm pretty confident Georgia Tech wins. Florida State I'm not so sure about.

Overall, you are right, the Pac 12 and SEC have done really well.

TCU vs Ole Miss has been fun to watch so far. TCU playing very physical today. TCU is out to prove a point today that they should have been in the playoff. They are playing with a chip on their shoulder. Very enjoyable game thus far

I'm following this game online right now. I wish I could watch. I see online that in the second quarter TCU has 21 points and Ole Miss has 11 yards. Unbelievable.

This is one of the few games I nailed in the bowl contest. Ole Miss really struggled to end the year and TCU is just flat out good

Good call, at least so far. I had this game in the "who knows?" category.

Trust me, this was one of the few I got right :)

TCU is playing so physical. Just pushing Ole Miss around the field.

After tOSU gets blasted by Bama tomorrow night TCU will be even more pissed off.

Watching Ole Miss be run over after the LSU loss to Notre Dame gives you confidence that Bama will blast OSU? Bama is definitely the best team in the country. I think they are the legitimate favorite tomorrow, but I have to wonder if OSU's chances are better than a lot of people believe.

The only thing more overrated than the SEC west this season - was OSU.

Lol. The SEC West was very good this season no matter what happens in these bowl games.

The Georgia Tech game against Miss State could go either way I think. Auburn has the advantage over Wisconsin because the Wisconsin team lost its coach. I would be very surprised if Miss State and Auburn both lose, and I think they both might win. If, however, both lose I would say that the SEC West was a little overrated. Otherwise, the SEC West is really good but maybe not as good as some people believe.

I never rule out an Urban Meyer team even against a Nick Saban team.

My belief isn't pro Bama it's anti Ohio St.

It's Oregon versus Ohio State. Put it on the board! It's real. The selection committee hit a home. In it's first at bat some will say the committee swung and missed once or twice, but I think the committee fouled off a few difficult pitches before driving the ball out of the park. The committee stayed true to its principles and guidelines throughout no matter how it looked at the time. That was great to see.

The shifting college football tectonic plates always become apparent eventually. Next season the SEC may end up being the best conference, but they will have to earn it. The gap in speed and quickness is closing fast and may be closed already. I think we are seeing the P5 system slowly level the playing field somewhat across the 5 conferences. The ACC performed well. I think the Big 12 will improve. The Pac12 in my opinion is as good or better than the SEC this season and perhaps last season too. The B1G continues to adapt, and yesterday Michigan State, Wisconsin, Ohio State, and even Minny showed that they no longer lack in speed and quickness. Michigan and Penn State are coming.

Yesterday was a great day of college football. Having meaningful games on New Year's day is exactly as it should be. Being able to watch the two best coaches in college football have their teams compete for a meaningful game is even better.
