I'm curious as to where we were ranked last year at this same time (or in other words, these rankings mean nothing). This team is clearly better than 2-3. We not only have a great shot at a bowl game, but also a great shot at wining the Big East.

I thought the poll was suspect when I read that Temple was #68 and I quit reading after seeing Tulsa ranked #31.

Here's our peer group (+/- 5 from where we're ranked):
74. Minnesota (4-1, 0-1)
75. Navy (2-3, 0-0) – UP 14
76. East Carolina (3-3, 2-1)
77. Arkansas (2-4, 1-2) – UP 19
78. Troy (3-2, 2-1)
79. Syracuse (2-3, 1-0)
80. Middle Tennessee (3-2, 1-1)
81. Pittsburgh (2-3, 0-2) – DOWN 20
82. Georgia Tech (2-4, 1-3)
83. Mississippi (3-3, 0-2)
84. Connecticut (3-3, 0-1)

I was expecting to see a bunch of teams above us who scheduled down OOC that could be expected to drop once they play some more even matchups in conference and was surprised to see several teams with not so great records above us (even further than the listing above).

It's so utterly shocking! I'm in disbelief. No respect for the best 2-3 team in the country!

Why?

You do realize that Tulsa received votes in this week's AP and Harris polls, right? Sagarin has Tulsa at 57. They do play a very weak schedule, however.

Because they're Tulsa...and how does NW fall below them by suffering their first loss to a B10 opponent?

Let's say SU does well and ends up 7-5 (5-2) beats Rutgers and Rutgers goes 9-3 (4-3). Guess who still will be ahead in this poll? The experts can't parse this SOS stuff that well and god knows kids see wins and losses.
