8/25/15 Practice # 17

Shafer: Syracuse LB Parris Bennett (minor lower-body strain) missed practice today. Should be fine. Got reps for young guys like Ted Taylor

Shafer: Syracuse S Antwan Cordy missed practice with a personal matter. Should be back in a few days.

Syracuse hybrid Ben Lewis wore a white jersey during practice today. Those are typically reserved for QBs/low-contact guys. No info from SS.

Shafer said Rhode Island prep starts Thursday. The team will run a mock game in the Carrier Dome on Sunday.

No significant update to injured DE Ron Thompson's status. Shafer reiterated that the original return date was a week from today.

Shafer said little when asked about the fully installed offense and his 4th-down decision making -- a sure sign the season is almost here.

glass is always half full or half empty right? The Custis ball was perfectly thrown which is another way to look at that play.

yes Fredericks makes Thomas look silly, but man the kid is powerfully built, the spin shows great feet and instincts and he's always moving forward. . He he looks like a younger version of the bowling ball running all over people at Wisconsin last year. Notice to when the defense catches him he's hit and just bounces off them. You're not going to arm tackle this kid up high. He's passing the look test in my opinion. it's easy to see why he's being raved about.
Look back to a very old post. I loved this kid the minute he committed and by the way Washington is going to have to earn it against him.

Ive been big on Fredericks since day one. More than I was Strickland. He hasnt disappoint me one bit. Im not ready to crown him. Still lots of football to be played.

Thats good because i LOVE strickland

There's no way. We'd have every receiver injured with broken hands...and that's with him letting up on his throw.

just broken hands? try broken wrists, humeri, and bilateral dislocated shoulders.

Is it me or do the wide angle shots with the big helmets make this look like pop Warner?

And that's not even mentioning those poor D-Linemen and Linebackers that will try to sack him. I imagine it's a little worse than running into a brick wall.

Is it too late for Shafer to enroll and compete for the QB1?
He would be the only QB ever who would want to punt so the defense could force a turnover. ;) I promise if they make a bowl this year, I will let that one go.

I am with you on this, it definitely makes them look smaller than they are for some reason.
