If the extra bowls games are meaningless and yet players have to practice for them instead of studying and can get injured in them- and 'devastated' because they won't be in one of them, that's a negative impact.

Teams that go to any but the major bowls lose money on them so if that's the consideration, it's one more reason to limit them.
So, you're saying you would rather not have had Syracuse go to the last 6 bowls it went to? Can't go with you on that one. No way.

I'm discussing the way college football should be. I'm glad Syracuse was able to take advantage of the system in those other years. I'm a Mets fan and I'm glad they made the 2000 World Series but I still don't think that second place teams should in the World Series.
 
I view the "No Name" bowls the same way as I view the NIT - they're there because there is some demand for them and they provide teams that have performed reasonably well a postseason play opportunity.

No, they are there because they can sell ads. When was the last time you cared about an NIT game?
