- The game was on at the same time as the Michigan State-Kentucky, Kansas-Duke double-header. I watched that while checking on the basketball game via radio and then watched the replay on Orange All-Access in between doing coach’s shows and another project I’ll be posting shortly. So this is a belated “Upside/Downside”. Sorry.

- We’ve played two good halves and two lousy halves. That’s OK against Cornell and Fordham but won’t be in very many other games this year. Add Cornell’s first half and Fordham’s second half and you get an ugly 75-91 score.

- CJ Fair has 11 turnovers in two games. He doesn’t have to force things to score. He started out last year trying to be a “Star” player, dominating the ball. That’s not his game. He performs better when he plays 5 on 5.

- We’ve given up 21 three pointers in two games. That’s going to cost us in most other games. And we may find that the ACC is more of a jump-shooter’s league than the Big East. Maybe our zone will be more vulnerable, especially with inexperienced guards and shorter ones in the starting line-up. We’ve had hot shooting guards go off for 23 points, (20 in the first half) and 33 points against us.

- We were 2 for 16 from the arc ourselves, with Trevor Cooney following up his 7 for 8 game with a an 0 for 4 game. As JB said on his show “This time they guarded him”. Our other good shooter, BJ Johnson also 0 for 4. There will be games this year when we wish we still had James Southerland.

I don't like how you put THAT!

Some of CJ's turnovers were flukes. As long as he hits 50% he should shoot early and often. Anyone shooting 50% is not forcing things. Keep it up CJ. He will control his turnovers.
