Everyone (media included) thought his stance at the time was exactly right because of his defense of a "friend" and how strong he was based on what he knew then. If he knew then what he knows now (assuming eastcoast will follow with a YouTube clip) he would have thought differently and so would most others. He believed what he said when he said it and now has back tracked a bit, you can't fault him for that, its not like he has never not done that before.

Actually, I don't think that what he said that night was problematic. It was his comments the next day or two [about $$$] that built upon what he originally said that are what look bad now.

Haven't heard anyone really mention it, but the irony in the notion that JB intimidated potential victims from speaking out, is that less than a week later accuser #3 was speaking to the cops...kinda makes that being the basis for his removal ring hollow to me.

His comments that Davis' motives were driven by the money he could make by acusing Fine have bothered me since I first heard them. Boeheim realy went overboard with those accusations that it was a shakedown.

That really bothers me. I would also like to know what Jim meant that Davis has tried this before. Is he refering to the alleged $5,000 loan and implying that was a financial shakedown?

I hadn't really thought about that, but I think you're right. Would JB have known about the $5k loan?

I agree it's unfortunate that JB publicly said what he said concerning a money angle.

12 hours since this was posted and not a single comment about how zoning restrictions would keep Iggy out?? What has this board come to...

Actually he used liar more than that one time and he also said they were looking for money. The 2 are what had/has people upset.

Boeheim told ESPN: "I know this kid (Davis), but I never saw him in any rooms or anything. It is a bunch of a thousand lies that he has told. You don't think it is a little funny that his (relative) is coming forward?

"He supplied four names to the university that would corroborate his story. None of them did. … there is only one side to this story. He is lying."

Boeheim also questioned Davis' motives. "Why would he go to ESPN? What are people looking for here? I believe they are looking for money. I believe they saw what happened at Penn State and they are using ESPN to get money."

I guess JB was just coming out with 'guns a blazing' in defending himself...maybe not such a good idea after all.
