My friends and I got in to town Thursday night and left on Sunday afternoon. I've read all the recaps from others but I have a few unique ones no one has mentioned.

1) Thanks to JohnCuse for all the organizing. And thanks to Crusty and Mrs Crusty for all the hard work. Great tailgate! OK, other s have said that but I had to chime in.

2) we played 36 at the Clemson course on Friday. Great layout, superb shape, excellently views, everything you'd want. If you are a golfer, play there next time.

3) we must have had 100+ people say "welcome to Clemson". It was never "glad you are here" or "nice to have you here". It must be their saying.

4). During the invocation at the start of the game, the preacher said ( paraphrase). "And keep our Clemson players from injury". Several of us heard it, not just me. Maybe she misspoke, maybe it just came out wrong, but I think she she had plenty of time to prepare and she intended it that way. Seemed counter to their friendliness.

Yes, it was odd. You'd think something that was all-inclusive wrt injuries would've been more appropriate. At first I thought it was just a mistake, but after all of the booing I wasn't.

For those not at the game, it was quite pre-game ceremony. Not necessarily in this order, but we had: the Clemson alma-mater, "America the Beautiful" (or was it "God Bless America"?), Pledge of Allegiance, invocation and finally the National Anthem.

Did anyone else catch that shout out to some women who had a hysterectomy? What was that all about?

That was about a nurse who recovered recently from surgery at a sponsoring hospital. Basically a commercial for St. Francis Hospital.

It was so odd - you never hear private things like that in a public announcement before 80,000 people. So many other ways to say it.

I have to visit that place.

I'd like you all to send some prayers out to Jimmy Sampson of Greenville who finds himself battling an unfortunate case of the crablice.
