  1. What a weird day for both men's and women's lax - the men with the weather and change of venues, and the women with the illegal stick challenge resulting in an extra man(?) situation and tying the game with under a second left. Strange days, indeed
  2. Credit to the entire team and coaching staff - after some tough (and frankly, head-scratching) losses, they really embodied the HHH credo, dug down, and salvaged this season, culminating in (at least) an ACC championship. Kudos!
  3. In my mind, the MVP of the season, so far, is Molloy (or maybe the entire D). Really turned the season around when he came in. Tough situation to enter a starting role mid-season, but he really took to it and shined. I'm hoping for more.
  4. SU really came out the aggressors after the rain delay and change of fields. Scored quickly and never let Duke think they could rally. Whatever Desko did/said during the delay worked. Or maybe it was the kids themselves... Whatever the reason, fantastic job in taking over the game.
  5. Team has to keep their heads in the game with Colgate coming up. A win doesn't really mean anything, but a loss would be terrible. Might/might not cost a home game, but losing to Colgate would raise again a lot of questions we thought had been put to rest in the last couple weeks.
  6. This game was the beginning of the revenge tour - beat Duke after losing to them, and I think we stand a good chance of seeing Hop and/or ND again.
All in all, just a great couple weeks of SU lacrosse. What a job of coming back from the 'dead'. Now I'm getting greedy. I want more. Need to at least make it to Memorial Day weekend. But more than that, I want #12.

Good thoughts, agree with all. Going to post something myself later tonight. One point I would like to follow up with specifically is #5 not only is Colgate important but the tourney itself. Not trying to be a wet blanket after a great win (delay not withstanding) but this years tourney is importance. This program needs to get back to memorial day weekend. A final four appearance would really make this season a success.

I know it's bad form to quote your own post, but I thought it was also worth noting that we have played in the ACC championship all 3 years we have been in the league, winning twice. Won two, lost the third by 1 goal (ND). And as a side note, the two previous years won the only two Big East tournaments we played in.

That's the SU lacrosse I know and love.

One last thing on this point - during the delay about 3/4 of our guys, and our entire staff were out on the sidelines in the mist, hand-tossing balls around, and just staying active in the rain. 3 Duke guys peeked their heads out the door once during the 3 hours, and were quickly ushered back in the locker room. I think they got pretty stir-crazy, and tight.

Yup. Once the rain stopped, a lot of Orangemen were outside. Some were even playing some games on the wet field. I was worried that they might get hurt.

The funniest sight during this spell was when 4 staffers showed up with squeegees at one corner of the field. They never made an attempt at pushing the water off the field. That would've been hilarious.

I think the break really helped the Offense who was starting to look gassed. Came out fresh and focused. Awesome job. Let's take care of Gate and make a run in the tourney. If this team could cut down on the stupid turnovers and silly mental mistakes I think they can play with anyone at this point. Peaking at the right time.
