First, the Daoust post standard interview today...Excellent. A must watch 3 minutes. He gets it.

Secondly, why annoint and announce Fredricks as the starting RB? By doing that, I think you run a greater risk that as a first time starter (who happens to be a freshman), that he might try to naturally press too much in the beginning. Why not just call his number on the first series and let him run before he has time to think and analyze about being the "starter"? Timing is everything for a runningback and I think you run the risk of him being off on his timing through blocks, cuts etc., because he is trying to press and do too much.

Don't understand what you mean about trying to press and do too much.

Disagree about Fredericks. He is the best back on the team, so he should be in the game from the start.

He's a freshman, going into his first start, on the road in a must win game. I just think it adds pressure to him to perform well from the first snap by officially announcing him as a starter. To help avoid this, they should've just called his number from the beginning on Saturday and run with him as long as he is able to do well.

I also agree, he is the best RB and should be getting starters carries. However, there are ways to afford the opportunity without adding unneeded pressure.

IMO, this won't affect that kid at all. He already knows he's a big part of the gameplan, but now he knows he will be a part of the game from the get-go. We simply cannot afford to start these games in the hole and I think he gives us the best chance to put points on the board early. The staff loves him.

I think he'll be fine. He's gotten the majority of carries out of the RB position. It's only really just changing the title. He's been the #1 guy for awhile, now they're making it official. Morris and DMC will still get carries. If Jordan struggles, they'll go with the hot hand I'd suppose.
