What's that in the bottom right - a soup ladle?

it would been better had we been playing press on one of the WR which we were until the Lb went to blitz. i cant believe the coaches up top didnt see it though and scream for a TO.
this is where I am. Like many of you, watching the play before the snap I saw trouble with the numbers on that side. I just can't understand how a time out isn't called. They knew they called an inside blitz, and Maryland was set up for a quick hit easy throw outside that wouldn't be affected by an inside blitz, all to a numbers advantage.

Yah, we had a kid take a bad angle and miss a tackle, but that kind of stuff happens and needs to be accounted for (hence the emphasis on gang tackling). But the defense was set up to fail in the alignment and play that was called. There was a ton of risk for little upside, and the outcome was easily foreseeable given the presnap read. That's just bad coaching.

To Maryland's credit, they split the RB out wide quickly and almost immediately snapped it. There probably wasn't enough reaction time from the booth upstairs to get a TO called quick enough. With that said, we must not have anyone on our defense who has been given responsibility for making any sort of pre-snap reads on the field and changing up defenses. As soon as that RB went out wide, the inside blitz should have been called off. Maybe that's asking too much of our kids?

all in all. the call beat the defense.. we compounded it by missing the tackle that could have made it 20 yds and not 90.

I'm fairly useless when it comes to Xs and Os, but I was sitting right in front of that play and I actually said to my kids "...uh oh, they have us outnumbered..." and them BAM.

oh come on farkin jamiroquai on a conveyor belt could've picked up 7 yards on that

Missed tackle happened after the back had gained 7 yards. Cute, though.
